Great looking tank!! I will be in Chrischurch on Sunday....I live in Blenheim...no salties here....would love to be able to view your tanks and get some advise and ideas....where do you all get your livestock?? theCoNCH has told me to go and see John at Organism....I wanted to bring home some frags.... :lol: :lol: I want to start adding coral to my fish only tank, but at the moment it is covered with brownie red film over the surfaces of everythink....I think it is due to not the correct light. Soon I will be upgrading the lights and hopefully the brown stuff will go away. What do you guys think??

Its funny to hear you guys talk about your fish as if they were your dogs...who said you could'nt take a gold fish for a walk??? I am not abnormal after all :lol: , the girls at work think I am mad :roll: when I talk about Sponge Bob and Long nose Larry!!!! I even filled up the lolly jar with chocholate fish!!! :bounce: I got the cabinets finished on Sunday, they look great, but I did think that the noise whould be alot better, it not made much difference. :evil: The anenome that got caught in the pump is fully recovered and is stayng in one place....for now anyway!!!

interesting, I may keep Trigger in the 4ft, and then introduce him when everyone else is settled, before bed time!! That might work? Today, I have finally got the rimu cabinets done on both tanks!! :lol: :bounce: :lol: My friend Sandy is a gem!!! I will get Caryl to show me how to put photos on.

I've been caught out too, going to bed really depressed because I was a useless fish keeper and my shrimp had died!!!! I was happy and surprised in the morning when I saw the shrimp still there...it was great!!! AND funny!!! :lol: Mr Trigger has not been in a tank with a shrimp...I might have to keep the 4ft set up just for Mr Trigger.

Nice tank Matt , I will need to get into gear to tranferre my reef 4ft into my 6ft fish only tank. I will have to get rid of the live rock in the FO tank as I have coppered it in the past, and apparently the copper leaches out over time. It was good to read that most of you guys prefere less rock in a tank...I also have a sand bottom which I will keep, but will clean out well before transferring it. I don't know what to do with the "nigger trigger" though. He is a beautiful fish, he will eat Mr Shrimp!!

Anenome recovering well!! :lol: does anyone know why my alkalinity levels are so high?? Calcium stays at about 470ppm, but the alkalinity has risen from 3.2 last week to 8 this morning. Is this bad? everything looks fine in the tank.

Hey Canmbron...like the finger poke thingy...yes i am quite keen :lol: I just had a look at your set up,... wow can't wait till I can move my reef into my 6ft fish only tank.
