what do you feed your reef?? I can't seem to get things to grow well. Would love to know your weekly routine with the tank.

I thought so but I can't see him anywhere, did a water change yesterday and blasted all the rockwork with a power head hopeing to find something.....everyone else is fine. The tank is not quite the same without him.

My cool Sponge Bob Square Pants has just disapeared...he was a box fish, and I am surprised that all the other fish in my tank havn't been killed by his toxin. I have searched everywhere for him, the sad thing is that I can't remember when I last saw him ....and I sit and watch my tank most days....I feel guilty now that maybe he didn't get enough food as I moved him into my big tank with my Trgger and Bird Wrass, they steal most of the food, and I end up having to hand feed my blennie and some of the other shy fish. BOO HOO

I use a massive syringe and a drawing up needle and sqirt boiling water into the middle of them....it works really well. I havn't had anymore in the tank since.

I like shaping human bums out of clay...backs and bum are wonderful!!! Pitty I havn't learnt how to put photos on this forum...maybe I could sent a pic to Caryl....she knows how to do EVERYTHNG!!!!

The pump which runs is the big one which supplies the whole farm with water!! I wouldn't mind if it were a small one...yes I have many small pumps in my tank plus metal halides....

We are on tank water and have found that the pump which supplies the house runs every 2 minites??? we are assuming it is the RO water filter which is doing it. Our electric bill will be huger than normal and those blokes at Contact will make MORE money!!!! Must change that too!!!! Anyway, my tank is looking great!!! I have put most things in my 6ft. I have a clarike Clown here if anyone wants him. Two fish are going to heaven and I will put the others in the big tank, then I can dismantle the 4ft and sell it off. Seems no one want to buy it complete.

Do RO water units usually come with a pump to force the water through the membrains? OR, Can the normal water pressure do the job? I bought one, which came without a pump and now I have seen a unit cheaper that comes with a pump. ??I think I've been ripped off!! :evil:

Just a matter of a ferry ride....and come and check out the "Mainland"!! It all fits in a station wagon.

I've also got a tank for sale...with sump, skimmer, lights, live rock, and a few fish too, plus a super duper red banned shrimp....!!! Comes with a very cool looking remu cabinet....I listed it on here under "all you need to start a marine." Where have you come from?

I have just atrted putting a few corals into my fish only....I am having difficulty getting the phosphate down, I have sea gell in the filter, and have tested the rain water which has no phosphate in it, and my other reef tank is all good. I have got the brown stuff on the rocks again and the bits of coraline are slowly going white. Calcium and alkaline all good levels....my light is not that good though and will be dealing with that on tuesday when the part arrives to hang it from the roof...I've been waiting about 6 weeks now...I sent it up for a "service" and it was returned to me minus a part!!!! :evil: :evil: :evil:

so the crate goes under the rock to keep them just off the bottom?? To stack the rock up, are they just placed the rock together or have you glued them? I ahve found in the reef tank that the fish actually burrow in the sand so the under rock is exposed. My brown and white fish, two white strips,??? name??? :oops: love making caves, they work all day carrying sand out of their holes in there mouths, and then dump it over everything else!!

Thanks for that. Its funny how one tank will have it and the other is completely free of it....the only difference is the lighting, and the pressence of coral. I also think that the water flow need to be improved. I might do it tomorrow....remove all the rock and give it all a good scrub, and don't put it all back so there is more space fro swimming and rearrange the power heads so the water moves around the rocks more. What are the egg crate things you talk about, I have used upsidedown water lilliie pots, my rock is just placed in, its not tied down to anything.
