I think your tank resembles Amano's earlier style. Have you read Nature Aquarium World vol. 1? Your tank looks similar to a lot of stuff in there. Looking awesome by the way, but yeah it is a shame that the glosso carpet didn't work out. Good idea  All of my tanks are custom and I wouldn't have it any other way. With custom tanks you can have everything exactly how you want it and it always works out great
  2. I have never owned a mobile phone but I do have a bit of experience with Apple computers. We had them at my old school and I could not stand them. They were incredibly frustrating and were not very user-friendly. Probably about the only thing I liked about them was this programme called "Pages" which was great for producing documents. But otherwise, I definitely prefer Microsoft.

Thanks for the link Some of those photos are awesome !drool:
  4. He doesn't ship. I asked Jennifer to pick them up for me and post them She did an awesome job too, as usual
  5. Males have red on the anal fin and females don't, and the biggest/most dominant males have completely red bellies.
  6. Okay so here's what I've got so far... Pardon the terrible quality, but this lens isn't really suited for this sort of thing. When I borrow Grant's macro lens I should be able to get some better shots.
  7. Damn, I knew I should have taken photos while they were acclimatizing! Hahaha. I'll go and try to get some pics now...
  8. I have managed to source some 150L drums from a local condiment manufacturer for $10.00 each, and they have only had vingar in them  The down side is that they don't have removable lids and only have a couple of holes at the top to fill them so it means that I will have to somehow have to cut the tops of the drums off so I will be able to put the peat and filter wool in, but then I will have to try and find something to cover them with. Also I can't get them yet because they won't fit in mum's car. I also now have 15 Sundadanio axelrodi and 15 more Green Neon Tetras, bumping the shoal up to 25. The Green Neons look so cool in a large group! The Sundadanios are really small but they are quite strong and robust little fish like the Neons. The blue on the Sundadanios is more of a softer iridescence and it isn't as electric as the colour on the Neons. I actually wish I got more Green Neons instead of the Sundadanios, but then I wouldn't have known what the Sundadanios were like and I still would have been wanting them. But all in all, they are both very healthy, active and nice looking fish and they don't have any deformities, and I do not regret my purchase. I have also cut up the mest into panels ready to put together for the breeding trap. I have made two different sizes; 30x25x15cm and 30x20x20cm.

I phoned the courier depot and they had the fish with them because they thought it would be too hot for them in the courier van and that they would overheat so they were going to wait until the guy driving the van had delivered all the other parcels and then he was going to pick the fish up and drop them off. So I phoned my sister and asked mum to pick them up after she had finished shopping so I got them at about 4pm. They were all perfectly fine and very active and after I acclimatized them they were swimming around and eating. The customer service from the courier company was amazing

My fish from Christchurch still haven't arrived yet. I'm getting quite worried... Usually the courier comes a lot earlier.

Can I come round and help you eat them please? !drool: :bounce:
  14. If you like buying things from overseas, you could get an Eheim 2211 nano canister filter which is especially suited for small tanks. For some reason they aren't sold in NZ. I have one sitting in my closet that was brought in from overseas and was on TradeMe.

Then why did you even bother going? Seems rather pointless IMO  :slfg:

I love fantasy art too! I am useless at drawing cartoons and fantasy stuff though, so that's why I don't bother with it :slfg:

Yeah I have a bit of an obsession with it (but at least I don't rub it in people's faces and get annoyed at them if they aren't interested in it, like all the macho guys at school do who really like sport 8) ). I also like cooking and science, particularly biology, and plants and nature and that sort of stuff. Oh and cats too!!!

    The What's Up? thread.

No I didn't because I don't like sport. Never really been into it or seen the point in it, and for that matter I've never really been interested in the sort of stuff that most guys or teenagers like. At the last session of the two year art course that I have been doing with five other students one of them was asking me about the things I like and I don't like and what my hobbies are etc, and when I answered their questions they said "You're so bad at being a teenager!" :slfg:

My sister goes to Bohally. I was supposed to go there after I finished at Witherlea but I ended up going to a country school called Fairhall which was awesome Yeah I've heard some of the Nelson schools are pretty cool. If it wasn't for my fish then I would probably go to school soemwhere else, most likely in Nelson. Marlborough Boys is really annoying because they put a lot of emphasis on sport, winning, Maori culture and being better than everyone else. It's so macho

Mmmmm those sound delicious Caryl !drool: Mum made two banana cakes last light and cut one into thirds and gave it to some friends and the second cake was for us. Today is my last day of school but mum gave me the day off because she said that she didn't see the point in me going when I only have a couple of classes in the morning and then lunch break which goes for an hour and then I have this prizegiving ceremony thing which lasts for the rest of the day. I went to it last year and I found it absolutely horrible and I didn't enjoy it one bit so mum said that I never have to go to it again. A lot of students I know are also having today off for the same reason.
  22. For your 60L tank an Eheim Classic 2213 will be a good choice. I use Eheim Classic filters on all of my tanks and I absolutely love them!
