  1. So you don't like people from a particular country just because they are from that country? That's unfair and not very kind. What have Australians done to you to make you not like them? Surely you must have a reason?
  2. What spins (spun) my wheels - my feet pushing on the pedals of my bicycle when I used to have one when I was younger. May I ask, why don't you like Australians? I've noticed a lot of New Zealanders don't seem to like Australians, and not just in sport like in your case, but a lot of NZ citizens just genuinely don't like Australians. For the life of me I can't figure out why :dunno: As far as I know Australians have never done anything wrong or done anything bad to NZ and I don't understand what people have against Australia.
  3. I've never eaten them and they probably taste good, but the reason I hate them so much is that they are horrible savage creatures. When I was a toddler and I lived in Rotorua I remember going for walks along the lake with mum and the swans would attack me and they even drew blood on occasions. By the way there were no nests or offspring either, so they weren't defending anything.
  4. I absolutely hate black swans with a passion and think that they should be eradicated, but roaring around with a boat and hitting and injuring them is just wrong and is not the way to do it. They should have used a gun as it would have been more humane.
  5. Wow they are stunning !drool: Some of the nicest minnows I've seen for sure
  6. Wow that tank is spectacular !drool:
  7. What fish are you keeping? 24C is about right for most species, and is definitely not too high. The "safe" temperature range is around 22-28C for most fish I think.
  8. Yeah didn't mean for it to come across quite that harsh  Sorry if I upset anyone
  9. For Bosemanis I don't think so. I've seen Jennifer's ones and they are enormous +1 :nfs:
  10. I personally think the dragon one is ugly. What I love about those two tanks is the natural, overgrown look with a little bit of this and that all mixed in together. Kind of like a wildflower meadow. The plants look lush, vibrant and healthy too. I'd like to see you grow plants that nicely  Even I couldn't achieve growth that nice.

Nice job on the photoshop image - looks good  I don't understand how Hygrophila is cheeky though lol.
  12. They also grow MASSIVE and need a lot of room too
  13. Odessa barbs. They are the nicest barbs available in NZ IMO
  14. Yellow-tailed Congo Tetras (Hemigrammopetersius/Alestopetersius caudalis)
  15. Discus get quite big, and I'd think scissortails would need a bit more space. How about Pearl Gouramis? My mum is obsessed with them :slfg:
  16. Incredible photos! !drool: Thanks a ton for sharing them with us I hope you are going to get some of those blue and black shrimp for your nano :happy2: These are my favourite tanks: Thanks again for posting all those photos Also what camera/lenses are you using?

Excellent work Sam And yeah I agree with Liam about the rock
  18. Wow that looks amazing! !drool: Yeah what I meant is that you don't want to blast the crap out of everything :slfg: Do have enough flow so there are no dead spots, but the flow shouldn't be so high that you are worried about the fish having problems with the current.
  19. Sundadanio axelrodi don't mind it  But in a nano the flow shouldn't be too high though. You should get an Eheim Classic 2211 Nano Canister filter :bounce:
  20. According to Gareth Morgan "The SPCA is single-handedly destroying native species" I'm worried about this guy...

    The What's Up? thread.

    The What's Up? thread.

Only problem is that I need a bit of income first Especially if I want a low iron glass rimless tank with a fancy Giesemann halide
  23. Looking good  Awesome looking Apistos too by the way !drool: Your "gold" harlequins (the more intensely coloured ones) are actually Trigonostigma espei and the "regular"/less colourful ones are Trigonostigma hengeli. Hope that clears things up for you They are stunning fish, especially the T. espei Both are common in NZ stores. To sex them, the females are usually fatter/larger, especially when they are full of roe. True gold harlequins are a captive-bred mutation of Trigonostigma heteromorpha and look like this:
