  1. Most likely Hygrophila corymbosa and Alternanthera reineckii. The tank is looking awesome by the way Also have you thought about adding Cyperus alternifolius? Would look awesome in your setup
  2. Those agassizii are amazing !drool:
  3. Looking awesome Tom! I absolutely love the scape so far, excellent work! The wood will look awesome with some Taxiphyllum barbieri and Fissidens fontanus on it. Also you should definitely get some Crystal Red Shrimp for the tank !drool: Some ideas for stocking - Boraras sp., Sundadanio axelrodi, Microrasbora sp., Axelrodia riesei.
  4. Thanks for letting me know Sophia. If for some reason John isn't able to get any in then I will buy some from Hollywoods
  5. I have decided to buy some more Axelrod's Rasboras because I think that they are cute and I like there small size. I also won't need to cover the tank to breed them like I would have with the Neons. I will use one of the breeding tanks as a quarantine tank. I sent an email to John at Organism, and hopefully the wholesaler still has some and John will be able to get some in for me  I'll probably get around 15-25 or so. Licorice Gouramis and Apistos are still looking okay. I am a bit worried about the Apistos though as they seem quite stressed, but they should be alright hopefully. Still have all the Reed Tetras too. I am continuing to dose Wunder White Spot Cure on the tank, as I cannot raise the temperature to speed up the life cycle of the white spot because it might harm the Licorice Gouramis. I guess there is still hope for this project...
  6. Yeah it does look a lot more open, and not so cluttered. I thought that adding the riparium plants was a clever idea though
  7. Not really a fan of christmas either. Probably about the only thing I like about it is mum makes nice food, but everything else about it is pretty boring.

  9. Thank you, that was very helpful When I eventually get proper stands and all my equipment is tidy and organised and I have more space then I will definitely look at getting a quarantine tank or two made.
  10. No I haven't seen that website before. Hahaha it's funny you should mention composition because that's exactly what I go for. Maybe our taste in composition differs a bit?
  11. Thanks so much Caryl! You're the best Thank you for your kind words. I spent this evening fishing out dead and dying neons. It's kinda funny - every time I pulled one of those little faded bodies I thought to myself, "That's $8.90 down the drain" When purchasing them though I do know that I was taking a risk that something like this could happen. It would be a lot better if I was working with cheaper fish which is what I plan to do, but if I didn't get the neons in the first place I'd still be wanting them Anyway, I still have all of the Reed Tetras, Licorice Gouramis, Apistogramma trifasciata and 7 Axelrod's - 2 females and 5 males. I might pick up some more Axelrod's from Organism if we go down to Christchurch later on in the holidays, maybe even some CPDs because like I said earlier I've found them very easy to breed
  12. Thanks so much to Grant for letting me borrow his macro lens
  13. Thanks guys. Hopefully I manage to save a few fish but it doesn't look like there will be many survivors. I have around 7 or 8 Green Neons left and quite a lot of them don't look very well. I also have no more than 7 Axelrod's left, although most of them look quite healthy and only have a few spots. But if I can save at least the Licorice Gouramis and Apistos then I will be happy. I will probably just get some cheap and easy to breed fish next. I'm thinking something something along the lines of Odessa Barbs. Celestial Pearl Danios might also be another option since they are really easy to breed too. I raised quite a few fry (about 35) past the 30 day mark, however only 7 fully matured and the rest died because I didn't realize that they needed constant feeding. Now that I have all the parts for a brine shrimp hatchery I shouldn't have a problem rasing them.
  14. Great work Beautiful little fishies you have there
  15. I have had a massive whitespot outbreak and have lost almost everything. The only unaffected fish are the Licorice Gouramis so hopefully nothing happens to them. The Apistogramma trifasciata don't have whitespot either but they do seem to be quite stressed. I will not be breeding anything in the near future and I will not update this thread again.
  16. Thanks to everyone on this thread who was helpful and gave me useful advice Alan your comment is pointless and it isn't constructive so go and tell someone who cares.
  17. I took the plunge and made one today. It's not too bad... A bit boring maybe, but I am able to catch up with my friends now which was the main point in it.
