  1. Should I be worried about my Mandarin's favourite perch?
  2. None of the particulars of what you guys are learning now will be of use in your later life - except learning how to learn.
  3. L128 Blue Phantoms are available - I have three
  4. Eheim product two Activated Carbon products with different PH values
  5. Next year I'm going to spin around in my seat, drink coffee, and maybe go to Europe for a holiday...
  6. And don't forget it kills Pencil fish!
  7. Quartz, and a whole lot of other things, can look white so white doesn't necessarily mean lime - if they didn't react with the vinegar they should be fine. Alternatively, put them in a bucket of tank water (which you should have tested to get PH etc.) and measure for PH etc again after a week. If there is no change, you are fine
  8. As far as I'm aware it should be OK, although there are better medications around anyway - what are you trying to treat?
  9. Thanks to reef (for the pic as well), I'm getting something very cool for Christmas...
  10. In that kind of situation I think it falls to management to provide easy to use resources for the staff - info sheets, etc, that give answers to commonly asked questions or explain basic things, but yes, if you get paid $3.50 an hour there isn't much incentive to learn about things you aren't interested in.
  11. Don't rush into buying anything - there are new models that do video etc. http://www.apple.com/nz/ipodnano/ and there will soon be an ipod/cell phone combo that will see all of the 'lesser' models price reduced. Like all gadgets, more memory is generally better, but you pay for it. You can buy spare rechargable batteries if you need them (most people don't). You do pay a premium for a genuine ipod, but they are regarded as a superior product and have a reasonoble resale value as a result. Don't forget - they foreground portability and size over sound quality, so buy a real stereo if you actually want good sound
  12. Try powdering flake food (just rub it between your fingers) - they'll start taking it pretty readily, but don't overdo it - a pinch at a time.
  13. Have you tried kissing your frog, Wilson - you never know, it might turn into a Prince  http://www.scribd.com/doc/12746/The-Fro ... ppy-ending
  14. Doesn't hurt to keep your options open - what if you don't like it and want to do something else?
  15. Pretty much, although some do a good job of guarding eggs and preventing it. My Royal Whips guard their eggs to the point they hatch - then the fry are on their own.
  16. Just in case no-one told you, employers look for more than minimum passes - if you want good jobs, decent incomes, and the opportunity to indulge your hobbies then you have to be able to show that you can make the extra effort. Just something to think about over the break

From that article "Over the years I have used two methods to breed them with a high success rate. Temperatures for both were set at 22-23C/71.5-73F." Go read it again

Generally fish are more likely to breed in warm, clean water - WCMM's are probably the same.
  20. The odds are it is something common like a tumour.
  21. Hell yea - they are dumber than they used to be, too.
