It is one of the many strains of Scalare - Angels have been cross/inter bred for so many generations now that they often appear very different even though they share a common genetic background. Most of the names people give them are simply convenient descriptions of how they look, e.g. 'marbled' or whatever, but they are the same species.
  2. Have you got a brine shrimp hatchery sorted? If not, get to work now. You'll need it in a couple of weeks.
  3. That is good advice for any combination of drugs.

No, its not a tetra - its a raspora of some sort.
  6. I haven't bred them - I got them to spawn. There is quite a difference. Often raising the fry is the hard part because they require specific kinds of foods etc.
  7. Yep - that's what I feed mine
  8. The eggs are about 1mm in diameter and yellowish, the fry are dark and not much bigger.
  9. I didn't bother saving them - they were in a community tank and I wasn't really interested in breeding them, so I let nature take its course - other fish ate the eggs.
  10. It wants to breed - watch for two of them spinning around each other like a little whirlwind - hilarious to watch
  11. When all is said and done, I'm not sure a BIG tank would actually be any more enjoyable than a smaller one, and the cost would buy a lot of tickets to go diving and see the real thing
  12. I guess you had to spend some time doing your new hair do - you're not going all Emo on us, are you? If you do you'll only be able to have a Black Knife fish, you know...
  13. I heard John was going to ask Wilson's Mum for babysitting money if he showed up every day
  14. And don't forget, there are a few big (10'+) tanks already out there... so you never know
  15. It wouldn't be hard (or cost much) to produce an info sheet that the staff could refer to or give customers when they bought a tank / fish / etc. - especially if you consider the cost of a worsening reputation. They've probably already cost themselves a lot of business.
  16. Why don't you blanch them before you toss them in?
