you are right on both counts mincie and turtleman where the sexes are hard to tell apart more than one factor must be taken into account when making an assessment of sex the only sure way to tell is DNA testing or when a BT gives birth or drops sperm packets

can be sexed by width of head and general body shape females have a wqider waist need to be older to do this though if left in a bare bottomed tank the males will shed sperm packets can be "vented" but takes experience to do this
