    could be bitten off, interesting that it is the same flipper on both of them have you seen the parents, if one of them is the same it will be genetic i haven't seen it before but then it can be hard to check out each hatchling from a large bunch

    i keep 2, 3 and 4 inch puffers in my quite salty brackish tank with other species of mono, archerfish and ruby scats with no trouble so far, 2 yrs + lost another one 5 months ago, lump of coral fell on it, found it after 3 days dead and starting to go off, no problems with other fish just my experiences

    the heater guards are made of a more heat resistant plastic the plastic bins make good sumps too
