i used a good quality water based stain on our ones

i have spent a lot of time in anticipation waiting for fish and animals to breed usually i find it is when i have given up hope and forget about them that they do it

yes treat it or yes you can wait it out at least with treatment you are doing something main thing is to reduce any stress on the remaining fish just my opinion though hardest part is identifying exactly what the problem/pathogen is

sorry but you will have to wait it out maybe velvet if it has got to the eyes it has usually got to the gills stops the fishes oxygen intake
