  1. Yes had some Lake Tefe Green Discus in with them and Butterfly fish, in their own tank will be best
  2. Well done. I used to wait until fry were fairly big and male was having trouble holding them all, left a big net in the tank each day beforehand so they got used to it being there.
  3. Because we have natives that are at risk of any possible diseases that they could bring in, also a huge crayfish industry as well No import health standard has been developed for them http://www.mpi.govt.nz/importing/overview/import-health-standards/
  4. So long as you don't live in NZ will be good
  5. Probably one of the most invasive species in the world.
  6. Had a very juvenile School Shark (Tope) brought in today, had been caught in a flounder net and had a bite mark on its right hand gill. Have placed it in the big temperaste tank but had to remove the hermit crabs as they wouldn't leave it alone to settle in properly.
  7. So live rock and a skimmer can suffice? yes with regular water changes as well

    HELP!

Agree it may be caused by ammonia in the water, Do a 25% waterchange and ensure the filter stays on Feeding less and more often will help the system run better and ensue the fish have a better environment
  11. Yes you can but I would do a 25% water change every second day for a week afterwards just to ensure any possible ammonia was reduced in the tank
  12. Once you have the tank established when adding new fishjust test for ammonia rising and do a water change if necessary, nitrifying bacteria multiply pretty fast
  13. As deep as the construction method allows, I personally would build it 60cm deep
  14. I am working in the morning then off to have lunch with the inlaws them boxing day off to see the grandkids
