We would like to welcome our first online club to the Fedration of New Zealand Aquatic Societies
It is the facebook group NewZealand Reef Keepers https://www.facebook.com/groups/nzreefkeepers/
They represent the marine keeping side of our great hobby and being an online club also represent the FNZAS moving into the more social media pathway our hobby as taken over the last few years.
Acrylic should retain heat well
Put some ploystyrene around tanks to retain heat and if at home give them a stir up of the water every hour or so especially if fish load is high
If very little water you could place a mirror demister under tank or on outside back
if ambient temperature in room is okay i wouldn't worry about eating
I grew mine out of the water, just had lids on tank to keep humidity up
planted it on java moss so it acted as a @wick@ for water, tank was eated just with heaterin te water
I start all my marines from scratch but add a piece of live rock a couple of small fish and do weekly 25% water changes even if testing doesn't sow it needs one
Marine cycle is 6 weeks usually
Bacteria in a bottle works but is not the correct aerobic bacteria that tank cycles on, it will work until the correct bacteria takes hold
But as said only supports a light bioload
Anything in a bottle is anaerobic
The aquaone pipes etc are sligtly different in size to normal plumbing available in nz
I usually take pipe in to a plumbing supplies to find adaptor or heat a piece of plastic soft tube to fit as adaptor
Nice size you are moving up to, the more room you can supply the better for an aro's well being
I found wile they are young Arowana tend to get nipped by other aggressive type fish in the tank
