  1. theres no-one selling them on there at the moment In the club we offer them first to members
  2. there is no way I am aware of to TOTALLY remove silicone. Best thing is to mask the glass up when your first putting the tank together. In the trade we use the stiff back razors to clean up as much as possible If we spill any, we spray it with soapy water and remover the offending silicone with a silicone spatular then with a soapy/water rag and plenty of water we scrub the area. The soapy water stops the silicone from sticking to the glass while your wiping it off but you do need plenty of soapy water sprayed on to the area
  3. Feel better David? Beardies at the Bird Barn are normally $250 each for young I do agree with you though, I have people trying to tell me how much I should charge them for glass without knowing what the related costs are and by trying to compare costs in say China I cant afford a 60 ft launch and I should be able to afford it if others can so that makes those that have one rich and bad people all because I cant afford it well said mate
  4. most glass companies can get or will have reflection guages which will give a good indication as to the thickness as lucy hasnt got an area in her profile, I cant recomend anyone to help with that part of it

    sexing young

at 60 days you should be able to sex them but I would guess that the pointy one is a male have a close look at the tail and you will probably see a few stripes starting to show
  6. use toughened glass on the base the glass alone will weigh 181kgs and thats not including bracing or lids
  7. 1-The LG's at the Bird Barn have several different colours 2-Im breeding is done in the wild all the time. With a lot of animals, fish and reptiles, the area that they are bred in is normally close to where they spend their lives so the breeding pool is very small and close In racing pigeons, there was an experment done where mother was bred to son, then son to their daughter etc. This went on for about 48 generation I think before I gave up on following it. Going from memory, I think at about 12 to 17 generations there were a larger than normal "faults" found but through selective breeding (in the wild these "faults" would not even survive) these problems dissapared. Most will agree that its great to have hybrid vigour but the better breeding stock is normally pure With Northo Killis that die out every year, every one has been closely imbred for 1000's of years so there fore 100% related and with no problems. I cant speak for reps but to me, far too much time is being spent on worring about the limited gene pool we have here

    Hydra

I normally get rid of it with "snail rid" in lesser doses I feed daphnia but only in small amounts and from the same source but in tanks that have never had daphnia, I have it in there. Its only in the tanks I feed daphnia to every day

  13. I bought 2 for $429 each... we should have spoken and found out if we could have done better... I will probably be getting 2 more for the vans at work as well See you at the conference
  14. I have 45 tanks at the moment I dedicate 2 tanks (300 x 300 x 600) for only males when I have them spare. I can at times hold over 30 in each of them with no problems at all I try to keep sizes similar and there are some that dont mix very well. If your keeping 2 or 3 of any specie, you will probably get a dominate male but when keeping several, I cant remember ever having a problem
