i have this system, had to add a valve to stop the water going back up the pipe. Keep the bottle above the tank if you can. mine took awhile for bubbles to come out continuously. But if you shake the bottle up, the bubbles should come out...LOTS OF BUBBLES also the lower down in the water you have it the harder it is for the bubbles to come out and i think room temp affects them...If its hot the air expands and blows the bubbles out, but when it get cold and contracts it sucks water up the pipe, hence the need for a check valve.

ok, the eye isn't protruding from his head anymore, but it is cloudy still, I didn't come home tonight with the intension of knocking him on the head, but as he is improving I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. all the plants have been covered in Algae, and I had to deal with other issues such as white spot because dealing with the algae. The algae issues initially came from double doses of flourish excel to deal to black mans beard, or what ever its called. Only got my algae eater on Friday to deal with the problem. OK um other fish. L204 2- clown loaches 1 male fighter 1 GBA guppies and another gourami and my algae eater

Cheers, I have just done a big clean, took out all the drift wood, and had a good vacuum after I got white spot. Any thing in particular in reference to water levels? My Ph in Alkaline, and i have never had even a hint of a problem with ammonia nitrate and nitrite. All the same I'll get my water tested tomorrow, thanks. I do have an algae problem, which is been slowly delt to with a Golden algae eater (not sure of exact name). would you recommend cleaning the filter now? or could that compound the problem?

Ok found my Gourami sitting on the bottom of the tank, with one of his eyes looking like , Is it a disease, or injury, and is it life threatening, and is it fixable I was thinking pop eye? :-? thanks for any help... He saw me with out a top on, could this have caused it?
