Its been a while since I started my Asian Arowana tank so heres a little picture update. Ive added a few new friends for Mr. Aro. Royal Knife: Asian Arowana: Fire Eel: Ornate Bichirs: Golden Giant Gourami: Thats all for today folks.

So I found these fish in a feshwater spring near takapuna beach that comes (probably) from lake pupuke. They seemed to be able to sruvive in the sea water that flooded a near by rockpool but also seemed to survive in a fully freshwater stream. They are very silvery and look like a herring or sardine or something. They are in my native tank and are doing just fine. Can someone please ID em for me? Horrible photos, they are incredibly fast.

yes it will. they are the single most boring fish i have ever kept. you might aswell keep some dead leaves floating in the corner of the tank cos theyll be more exciting.

What is the Temperature Tolerance of freshwater crays?? I was just thinking that 5 bigs ones would look awesome in my big tank. Its probably a stupid idea but I'd thought I'd ask anyway becuase I see big freshwater crays in tropical tanks overseas and was wondering if we could use our native ones?

I personally think barebottom tanks with no plants or anything have a slight level of cruelty to them. I hate seeing eels cowering behind a filter head or in the corner becuase they cant find a place to get away. I have always thought that fish of any sort need lots of cover and Im pretty sure my ornates and blue dempsey and asian aro are all very happy in their tank. I can tell this by the way they act.

Hey y'all, I'm considering adding a black featherfin knife to my arowana tank but I cant find any info on them at all!!! Can anyone please tell me anything on these fish?? Are they rare and does anyone keep them? How big do they get?

Hmmm, didnt read the location....Still probably jansens fault becuase theyre so crappy. I work at jansens silverdale and so many fish die every day including 3 of our newly imported clown knifes who my retarded co-worker named 'spiny eels'. OMG I need to find a better job but then who will look after jansens neglected animals?? (you should see out back in quarantine where the breeding mice are kept, their water had the consistency of treacle until I discovered it and raised a small storm infront of the customers but im not meant to tell you that... whoops it slipped out) rant over.
