mmm hmm ok, no thanks. I hate plecos of any sort. I like the idea of: 1 fire eel, 1 dat, 5 silver dollars, 1 clown knife, 2 ornates (which i already have). Does this osund Ok? WOuld everyone last 2 years growing out in that tank?
Hey y'all,
What kind of tankmates are ideal for an asian arowana thats around 17cm? The tank I have is 152cmx61cmx61cm. How are these fish? Remember, I wouldnt want any harm to come to an asian arowana, and how would these fish be with eachother?:
1. Small Dat
2. Small CLown Knife (can someone tell me where to get a small one?)
3. Small fire eel
4. Small tyre track eel
(neither of the eels would be too small so the aro eats them)
5. Silver dollar
6. Small Oscar
7. Young Giant Gourami
8. Around same size silver arowana
9. Black Ghost knife
Sorry for all the questions but you gotta know these things.
Thanks Heaps,
Jamietron
And it was unbelievable. They had every imaginable fish and more!! They had three HUGE Super Red and 1 gold asian arowana and 6 silver and 3 platinum. They had the biggest selection of bichirs you could ever possibly see ranging from 7cm to 70cm (Did I mention they had every bichir under the sun?). They had the complete range of lungfish ranging from 4cm to 75cm and about 4 species of Gar. They had a clown and royal knife which were both 70-80cm long and did I mention the asian arowanas? It was very special to see a siamese tiger which was not the normal one...It was that rare yellowish banded one which is very hard to find in the hobby. They also had every imaginable freshwater puffer. If you can imagine it, they had it. if you cant imagine it, they had that aswell. At the time I didnt have my camera and I dont know if Im allowed to take photos anyway but next time I visit I will try to take lots of photos. Its called Aqua Trendy BTW.
I just thought Id share my experiences.
Too bad I cant bring any back home.
Im having flashbacks from when you asked if you could fit an arowana in something way to small... Lets try to get the message through: in the wild, fish have huge rivers/lakes to swim in with millions and millions of litres. We can't stop you doing what you want to do with your fish but all we can do is dicourage you.
Yeah thats a great idea! If we had some nuclear plants down in the south island I wouldn't need to worry so much about power bills...or nuclear plant meltdowns either...
The reason I ask is that a condition I have the tank, I have to pay my parents the running costs each month. And Im estimating it will cost around $75.
Hey y'all,
Im just wondering as I start to think about my own big tank what are the running costs of a big tank? The planned tank is 215x75x70 with a capacity of 1128.75L. How much is a glass tank gonna cost me at this size and how much is it gonna cost approximately in power and water?
TIA
P.S On a sidenote, is this tank OK for an asian arowana? thx
This is my second baby. My first one succumed to the evils of the carpet fluff. They will get out of any hole. I have taken every step to ensure this one doesn't get out. You can find them in most streams that are clean. I went fishing in a stream by the road with a big pool net and I found lots of wildlife.
Good luck!
I have a little baby eel which I don't know if its long or short finned. He is living with about 7 bullies which I think are common but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any pics of different bullies? I was wondering what my little eel and his bullies are going to eat? The eel is about 15cm long and the bullies are about 5cm.
TIA
