Okay, the tanks setup and going through cycling now. Im not gonna go with the whole amazon biotope thing now. Just with some nice amazon swords, some grassy plants and fish from different parts of the amazon. So far for the tank ive got two angels, a common plec, a geo suri and a small Black Ghost Knife on the way. I want a few more to add to it, possibly something small, but not too small that will get eaten by the angels or BGF, or some big fish. Any suggestions?

Will Different Tetras (ie: Neons, Cardinal, Glowlight etc) Form a school together?

a have 3 Bristlenose in my planted tank with no driftwood and ive never had algae in there and none of my plants have been eaten

To get rid of mine, i put a mug on its side on the bottom of my tank, put a few pleco tabs (or any sinking food) and turned the lights out. Leave it for a few hours and you can make some snail patties. I just did that every night for a week and the snail population was gone:) or you can go out and buy some loaches or snail trap

I'll be there too loopy. Looking forward to it, im always trying to spot tanks when i walk down the alleyway to the domain

I Use some rocks from up at halswell quarry and random rocks and boulders from up the waimak and selwyn rivers. dunno any names tho

i use 6500k in all my tanks, and in one of my tanks with lots of plants(http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/too-many-plants-vt20167.html), the plants are growing and growing and growing continuously.

How big are male Bristlenoses when they get thier bristles usualy? ive got two about 5cm and neither have any bbristles at all. Is this still too small to sex or do the males get them early on? Thanks

Im not too experienced with cycling since ive had my main tank since way before i even knew about cycling and i lost alot of fish whn i started. But now with all our rearanging furniture etc i have no properly cycled tanks for me to take media from. I have a 4 foot tank with a fluval 404 with all brand new media and its been running for a few days and the temp is all stable. Im hoping to get this tank set up as fast as possible, becuase i have my fish for it all bunched into a smaller tank. Could i cycle the tank with my pair of angels? They will be looking to spawn again soon so this could give them a chance too maybe. any advice?

Oh and my geophagus surinamensis will be in there too

Hello everyone!! I've been thinking about what to put into my 4foot tank and i thought id start up an Amazon Tank. I'm going to transfer my Pair of Angels, Two Green Severums, Plecos and a few Bristlenoses into the tank (assuming they are all from the amazon??? :-?) What other sorts of fish would also suit this tank? And What plants could i use? DOes Anyone have any pointers for me on what else to put in it and how to set it up like the amazon? or good websites? Suri is about 7cm and all the other fish are between 1cm-3cm
