  1. Hey everyone. I was thinking the other day about marine tanks. Then i started thinking that i wanna keep fish from our oceans. Is this possible? Is it the same setup as for marine tanks or is it muc more easier or complicated? For example thinking of small kahawai or yellow eyed mullet along with crabs etc. thanks
  2. Okay, last night my air pump came unattached from the hose and the air stone and hose acted as a siphon and wen i woke up, half my tank water is on my carpet!!!! How do i get that stench away?
  3. Hey everyone, going to be having more angel fish fry soon and possibly kribensis and no doubt the guppies will squirt some fry out too Was thinking about buying a Microworm Culture off trademe. (http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=92756634#qna) Is it worth buying for my fry? Or is there a easier way to do it. I used brine shrimp once for my axolotls but that was years ago and i cant remember how to do it. Any Advice? Thanks heaps

  7. Hey all, just a quick question. Can glossostigma elatinoides grow if floating on water? Rather than having it planted? I just think it looks way better like this. And the guppies love it thanks
  8. Oh and i cut a small piece of clear perspex to sit between the bulb and water surface.
  9. Went to the Warehouse yesterday and managed to find a 23Watt 6500k Energy saver bulb for only 4 bux. Tank looks great, thanks everyone

  11. The crack starts a few cm's above a corner and go's in towards the centre for about 6 cm's
  12. the crack is only about 9cm long....may have been caused by hot water :oops: DOH!

  14. Is that the only way? I was looking for a cheaper and quicker alternative lol as i really need ta use the tank asap as i have a hole lot of fish bunched 2gether in guppy breeding nets in my big tank. No other ways?
  15. Found a small crack in bottom of tank i bought off trademe, think it leaks very slowly but could leak faster when layerd with stones etc. Can i just coat it with some sort of silicone or glue? Rather than laying another sheet of glass down as i have spent too much money this week and needmy tank up and running ASAP
  16. hey again everyone. i got a 20w philips Tornado 20w energy saving bulb. Will this do ok? And also, there is nothing between the water surface and the bulb, do i need to put some perspex or anything between it? ta

Gidday everyone, i just won an auction off trademe for a small tank for my breeding angels (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=91437975) In the auction it said Is this sort of bulb okay for the fish and plant growth? If not, is there a good sort of bulb i can get to fit the socket for my needs? thanks in advance

    Im pretty sure they have Chinese Algae Eaters in a coldwater setup with the goldfish at Organism. And ive also heard of big plecos being put in outdoor ponds :-?
  23. Yeah ill scrape them off this afternoon, and ill prepare for the next time. The Severums have eaten half of them this morning anyway
  24. Now approx 80% of the eggs are white, with fungus grown in about 3 spots, should i just remove them all? If so, How can i remove them? I Feel really bad though lol, the angels havnt left the eggs since they laid them.
