  1. I seem to be swapping to the new worlds- Blue dempseys, Uaru, Chocolates are going into show tank.A few Discus- . Means I can cater for my plecs also. Going to down size Africans to just a few of my favs. A couple of randoms in there as well.
  2. I'm currently setting up up 600ltr wood/rock Rio orinoco tank for my plecs. this is a interesting tank with the wood. http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... =4&t=21200
  3. Yes I agree that tank needs some real maintenance on both the fish and tank. Even the landscaping good do with a Spruce up. Imagine what that 11 metre tank could look like with a little more enthusiasm.
  4. For Mine: 1st- Surinamensis 2nd- Nicuraguan cichlid
  5. Animares Henderson had a handleful of young multipunctatus the other day.
  6. Might not be suitable but a 3-4cm jack Dempsey will clean your tank out in 2 days. I even have one you can use.
  7. L 25's scarlet plecos are currently available, get to 40cm and are pretty cool.

    How much to feed?

Redwoods should do it cheaper than that .

    How much to feed?

Yep- JBL tabis tabs. Combinations of greens, bugs and shrimp etc- great for omnivores.

Been a long old day so was nice to get home to so the nice comments. Conch is on the money with the fish. The bigger of the plecs are L128 nblue phantoms, the smaller L200 green phantoms munching out on courgette, which is pretty much all gone by now. The Blue Dempsey is basically Jack Dempsey that have been bred for the reccessive blue gene they carry. They get to same size as regular dempseys but do seem to be nore docile as is the Gold variant. I was a little late with this shot as 2 mins before it you couldn't even see the courgette. Cheers!

Just fine tuning the queueing ettiquette at the moment.
  12. Lets try irony then- in a totally contextual sense of course..
  13. Henward if I found you ugly does that give me the right to determine what was yours is no longer yours. Should I determine that where you lived was better suited to what I wanted to live there. Try this maye- extend your arm as far as it will go focus on your fingers. Now look past your fingers and see what is out beyond- it's called context, something yor point of view is in dire need of.
  14. know what you mean. When I've seen incorrectly labelled fish or incorrect advice on them on TM part of of me wants to say something and be a pain in the butt to the seller. Other part thinks not my problem. With TM it really is a case of buyer beware. But this is really a case for someone to set the record straight.
  15. leopard fish are really slow growers, but mossies are their preffered food so yep to them.
  16. It 's a young Jack Dempsey, looks to be male. Looks like someone is wanting to invent the worlds ugliest Flowerhorns. There's one for your' brichardi vs pulcher' file -Ryan.
  17. The reason why the common name is Cuckoo.
  18. Hey Rcon Yep Copadichromis Azureus- Hope the cuckoos do it mate, but would like to see those azureus have some babies also. I've had my pair in and out of breeding tank for 2 months, had spawns but female wont last the distance. thought about tumbling but can't be bothered at the moment.
  19. Looking real good snookie. looks to be growing really nicely. Do you know which lot it came from. Brooklands or aquarists? Mine are from Brooklands which were the smaller lot that appeared first, so as i wish to breed them I'm keen to get a male from other lot to widen blood lines. Looks like yours may be getting up to 9-10 cms and I have read a few records of them started to breed at that size. I love these fish and the colour changes they go through- my big male has got heaps of black at the moment but will turn bright blue in a flash. Yours has almost gold running through it. There is a gold variant of the dempsey, not sure where it originates but would be cool to selectively breed for it with the blues.
  20. And depends how they were reared. Start as you mean to go on,
  21. That cobalt , electric yellow combo is real nice eh!
  22. An account of spawning process. Apparently a vertical flat rock is good, if you have someting like that in the tank. http://www.cichlidae.info/tank.php?id=370
  23. Hopefully thats your male build a nest. Hows the attention toward the other fish, aggression, flaring, lip locking?
  24. yeah -the apisto with the microgeophagus does work in my experience. Still need about 50cm of tank bottom each. I tried apistos together with even more room but no good.
