  1. Even though it doesn't expire for ages if sealed, it loses nutritional value faster once opened. I remember a store owner here talking about what the supplier had told him about it.
  2. Eh? I haven't seen it & I follow this thread obsessively. Although it is a logic puzzle, not really a riddle. & I can't be bothered working it out, so carry on.
  3. Different lights do make me strange, thus into different sizes I will change. What am I?
  4. First 3 lines make me think ant... Last one makes me think spider. No wait! Snail!
  5. I wanna do an easy one to get us going, hope noone minds: A man lives on the 22nd story of an apartment building. When it has been raining or if there is someone else in the lift, he goes straight to his home floor on the lift. But when it's fine and he's alone, he only goes to level 18 on the lift and then walks the rest of the way up the stairs. Why?
  6. I'll post this googled explanation cos I'm bad at explaining it:
  7. Ahhh, small town airports. You get scanned in Chch & Wellington these days. Maybe they don't bother with the tiny planes? Idk.
  8. Sign up to Animates and get their club card. Use that. It's the only thing it'll be good for
  9. Yup, that's what Scottie already solved Now we want to know, what if when you weigh the first 8 coins, the scales don't balance? How do you then find the off coin from those 8? 2 more weighings.
  10. Cool, figured you'd probably be onto it since you've been lurking, but thought I'd check 'cos you never know. I had the same problem a few years ago, one of the whistlers stopped eating. It seemed like he was too weak almost? I'd even hold flies in front of him & he wouldn't take them after a while. But I hadn't introduced anything new, so I have no idea why either
  11. So, the riddle is half solved by Scottie, as in we know how to find the odd coin if it's in the un-weighed pile after the 1st try. So now, how do you tell the odd-coin from 8 other coins? Keep in mind you now have 4 coins which must all weigh the same (the 3rd, unweighed pile) 2 balances left.
  12. Hi, do be aware that whistlers stay small & the green species get a lot bigger. If you keep them together the whistlers will be eaten alive at some point. Also they have different habitat preferences. I'm not sure about the mysterious deaths though. Ummm, possible to post a photo of your terrarium?
  13. Good on you for getting out, it's not worth it. Hope you can find a new place ok.
  14. Scrape with a razor blade. Elbow grease. White vinegar to help?
  15. Argh they're terrifying yet kinda cool.... I sorta want one too. It's be awesome for freaking out the flatmates with.
  16. Pretty good Scottie, but what if you don't get lucky? eg if it were me weighing the coins  You can have half a mark I guess. Yeah Phoenix, you're completely off due to the reasons LA gave.
  17. Ok, now you have 12 coins. 11 of them weigh the same and one is different. This time, you don't know if the odd-one-out is heaver or lighter. Once again you have a balance scale. How do you find the odd-coin with only 3 weighings?

  19. It took me ages when I was told this one, I could only get in 3 too. I'm gonna be mean and say if you already knew the answer, don't post it! Let the people who don't know puzzle it out. Let's watch them go insane.
