  1. What about the people who thought they *had* done their research, ie talking to the pet store workers who gave them wrong information?
  2. That's frustrating. We've had Vodafone internet/phone line for 3 years now and have never had a problem, best non-telstra provider I've ever had.
  3. Yay Dennis, I've always said the same thing. Silly people who don't understand it
  4. Could you just get an airstone or 2 with an airpump? It's all I've ever needed on my tanks to stop greasy surface.

  6. You will know that I am coming From the jingle of my bell, But exactly who I am is not an easy thing to tell. Children, they adore me for they find me jolly, but I do not see them when the halls are decked with holly. My job often leaves me frozen, I am a man that all should know, But I do not do business in times of sleet or ice or snow. I travel much on business, But no reindeer haul me around, I do all my traveling firmly on the ground. I love the time of Christmas, But that's not my vocational season, And I assure that is because of a sound economic reason.
  7. http://www.powershop.co.nz/faq.html It's owned by Meridian but you are buying from all the companies and get to choose which one you buy deals from. Oh and you can just treat it like a normal power company too, don't have to prepay.
  8. Haha, it's kinda fun too. It was exciting when we first got it, like playing a game. We'd check everyday and buy the cheapest power and if within a couple of days if there's a better deal, they'll refund the stuff you just bought. It's almost like playing the stockmarket. With the flatmates though, you'd prob wanna get everyone to give you a certain amount each week/month and then you (or whoever is in charge) deals with the buying, on your credit card, over the internet. It's prepaid rather than getting a bill & splitting it evenly.
  9. There are 2 ducks in front of 2 other ducks. There are 2 ducks behind 2 other ducks. There are 2 ducks beside 2 other ducks. How many ducks are there?
  10. Powershop rocks! You choose the cheapest deal at the time and can stock up on it, eg buy lots in summer to last over winter. They are cheaper than over companies in summer but not in winter apparently, but still works out cheaper overall. They often do deals and if you watch their facebook page, you get alerted when specials happen (possibly by email too) I think if you get the start-up pack from the Warehouse, you'll get $20 credit as a bonus? Was at the time we signed up. Flatmate reckons they had a deal on their site too for $50 so check around first. And haven't had any problems whatsoever, since you can enter your own meter number into the website it's really accurate. They do still check the meter (well, not us cos it's a smart meter) but since you're entering the number, there's no guesses, so you don't get any sudden really high bills cos of an off guess.
  11. Does anyone have any dietary requirements we should make sure our caterers know about? Vegetarians, vegans, glucose intolerance, dairy allergies, whatever?
  12. I like the Biosuppliers bloodworm best. Seems to be less juice than the other brands.
  13. That was super hard. "Emi" isn't a first name you'd find here.
  14. I was still in my pjs & dressing gown when the nice courier man arrived with a 20kg box of gravelley goodies. He said I should get someone to help me with it cos it was too heavy for me
  15. Atm, yes. But they need to register with us soon if they want the discounts to the attractions. If anyone decides on the day they want to come, that *should* be ok, but they'll have to pay full price.
  16. Ok, my mistake. Erica says registration is still ok. But we really need to know bustrip numbers 'cos if there are any latecomers, they won't get the group discounts.
  17. It was close enough to the 15th I thought it was the 15th even. Hard to keep track of the days when you're unemployed.
  18. Ok, registration and accommodation bookings are now closed. I feel everyone has had enough time to tell us if they're coming or not. If there's still anyone who would like to join us for a meal or two or on the bustrip, I'll give you to the 24th of May. From then on, anyone who gives a late booking may have to pay full price at Orana, the aquarium and at the restaurants. We are getting good deals for the group booking but the attractions need to be prepaid. I am getting so excited, it's my first conference! And my room is full of fishie goodies for the raffles. I hope everyone brings enough spending money for them, there's some fantastic prizes!
  19. Carlos is right, it's seaman. Dennis - the first line asks what is a water that doesn't cure thirst - saltwater ie sea the second line asks what has a soul. And only humans have souls, so man. When a man lives on the sea he is a seaman.
  20. How will we get to & from? We'll have to hang around at the hotel to get all the registrations won't we? We're organising some foods and sammiches and caek for then too.
  21. Eeeeee got a big box of goodies in the mail today, for the delegate bags and raffles. I'm expecting more in the next few days too. It feels like Christmas!
