Lights were left on to try and keep heat in the garage when we had that really, really cold couple of weeks and I was concerned that the tank heaters might not cope. Phoszorb might be worth looking into, thanks guys.
Bogwood lowers the ph. I have a 900L tank which I do 50% weekly water change and got caught out when I got a reading of 3.2PH I was gobsmacked. Even the fish did not tell me.
I will give you faff next time we meet  Around your earhole  Nice fish by the way. I hope you still want the males I am sending down on the 15th.
Gold nuggets are beautiful fish and they are not as shy as some other types. Mine like to sit on the rocks and bogwood and when it comes to feeding they sometimes beat the discus to the food.
Hi Stella, we are having an exec meeting on the 15 Nov if you can persuade someone heading back through Palmy I will gather lots of pumice for you and pass it on to the lucky person. Also remember if you boil pumice it will sink. (someone on the forum told me that)
It is most probably air. If you pump plunger slowly it should come right, if not then prepare your lips and lungs for a mouth full of fishy water YUCK! If it is rattling then the impeller is unseated and needs to be removed and reseated.
