  10. Good luck Mark I hope you get a good response from Campbell live, I would have loved to come and visit you and your park...but you're just a wee bit too far for an easy trip. You've done an amazing job with your animals and I hope you are able to keep the park going for them. All the best!
  11. Thats so sad Mark Just found out. That's not good...after all the hard work you have put into the park and the love you have poured into the animals, I'm so sad that it has ended like this for you and your family.

  14. Maybe you should give Loopy a hand to set up her fish room! You'de be welcome to come to Totally Tanked meetings if you wish... they are usually held on the first saturday of each month (except next month due to the conference )
  15. So sorry to hear that Navarre Winter sucks! I'm glad I have those marina minders on my tanks...makes for peace of mind.
  16. You'll be best to feed frozen mysis to the seahorses, because though the seahorses will eat brine shrimp they are not a complete food for them...they are alright as a snack.... but the seahorses will eventually lose condition. I feed mine live mysid shrimp which he absolutely loves! If you are serious about seahorses try looking at this website: www.seahorse.org good luck!
  17. Thats just so sad loopy It's always devastating when you lose your babies, especially the favourites! Would you like my short finned beta boy? You could have my San Mero Discus and I have some extra gba's if you would like....
  18. Though the FX5 is usually good at filtering the tank...i'm just not sure on the life span :-? Good points with the sump is that I can increase the quantity of biological media...I'll also be able to hide my heaters in it  My hubby is pretty good at making things up for me I do have a seahorse tank which runs a sump so I am used to them. it is nice and quiet unless I don't have the water level right...
  19. the motor died, it was fine one week than pretty much died within one week. the ceramic shaft was fine before that... but my hubby was trying to do something with it and broke it  the other prob is that i bought it over in aussie not here....they are alot cheaper over there....(bought half the price than they were here)
  20. we bought it almost two years ago.... so is not under warranty. the tank has a fairly high bioload, the filter usually does a really good job at keeping it crystal clear. but currently I have a pump running through the filter...but it isn't doing a very good job filtering it. so i'll have to do something fairly soon. :-? My hubby also broke the ceramic pipe when he was trying to fix it.
  21. My Fluval FX 5 motor has died and it will cost $375 to replace the motor  I am thinking of changing it to a sump set up. it is a 5 ft x 2ft x 2ft tank. The cabinet space available is 70cm x 58cm x 65cm. The tank is not predrilled so I would either have to get it drilled or set up a weir system. what would be the best thing to do? to fix the filter or to set up a sump? any ideas?
  22. we're a social club, we get together once a month to discuss each others tanks, any ideas, problems etc that we can help each other with.... as well as swapping fish, plants etc. its a great source of info and help when needed. feel free to come round to check us out.
  23. Well it's that time of the month again  Next months meeting will be Saturday 3rd May starting about 5pm, bring a plate for tea to share. Looks like this time it will be at my place, 30 Ariki Place, Hei Hei. But if anyone else wants to host it feel free to offer.... Any ideas on what you would like to discuss this month?
  24. As far as I know we posted the application on the 3rd of February, and had a reply from Warren for more details on the 10th, which was responded to on the 14th. And no I posted my application for the conference separately...
