Light is already there, and tank is new so no fish yet. How about a fleet of golden siamese algae eaters and some kulhi loaches? It needs to be something not to big and peaceful.

Hi, I have just set up a 450l tank, it has been set up for about a month and now has some plants in it. In the last 5 days I have had a really big problem with algae, I think its thread algae, it sorta hangs of the plants and gravel. I just cant get rid of it, its taken over everything, I am vacuuming daily and am struggling and failing to keep it under control. What should I do? :-? :-? Do I need a co2 system to go with the 4x58 watt t8 tubes? Should I get some algae eaters pronto? Thanks

Leds run on direct current, or DC. DONT use ac. Also to create the right voltage use the leds in series parrellel, or create an array. if you want 8 leds 1.5v leds, put them in series and hook up to 12v dc power pack

I thought I should buy a test kit, but do I need the whole thing or just some of the tests?

We dont have a hot water cyclinder, we have an instant gas heater. I suppose it may have copper in it??????????????

Hi I have just set up a 450l tank, it has 4 5ft tubes which are 6500k. Some of the plants are going black. I have checked the root growth on some of the plants and it is quite good. Will these plants come away? Ps they have been it tank for about 2 weeks.

The leaves are sort of a dark greeny black? What do you mean melting? I have some others which are greeny yellow in places, they werent brilliant when brought but should they improve? Thanks plantman

I have just planted 3 valisneria plants, these were fairly big at about .5m. Now the are sort of lying down, the leaves have folded and the tips are very near being in the gravel. Is this normal and will it improve?

I have 4 58 watt tubes in an enclosed hood on my tank, It gets very hot in there. Should I set up a fan to circulate air? What have other people done?
