I have an Aquis 2200 its supposed to do 2200lph but I really doubt it does that, The tank is 450l and there seems to be little water movement in the tank. As I said I think 2200lph is an over statment. Should I do something, or what?

I find that the magnet cleaner works brilliantly, its an aquaone designed for 16mm glass although I use it on 10mm

just ones that have come in on plants , they are brown in colour

Yeah 6500k is daylight, whist 20000k is really blue (K is temperature)

I've got .5 watts to the litre from 6500k flourescent tubes. I think thats pretty normal for plants?

If you go to Jaycar Electronics you can get a 2m cable with a 3 pin plug sealed on the end for under $7 to attach to a light batton fitting.

hmmm strange, nothing else is effected and tests come back in perfect order

I had 8 of these only small and in the last 2 weeks I have lost two of them and now another is looking pretty pale, none of the other fish seem to be effected. Any Ideas????????????????? Tank mates are: Opaline Gouramis Neons Bronze Catfish Phantom tetras harlequin rasboras sae's Kissing Gourami

Oh and the lights in my tank are flourescent batton lights with a three pin plug attached to them, much better that the ridiculously priced and too short, fish shop ones

Talking of sealing Mdf I had my Aqurium hood professionally sprayed with a waterproof paint, its really really good and its not that expensive

Hi I have been thinking a while about a plastic box which contained the heaters etc in a tank, the water from the filter would have to flow over the heaters before being allowed into the tank What do you think?

if all the pet shops are trying to sell them why dont they have a greater range, anamates chch had only the aa ones and each store only stocked a few, and when I went into anamates no one had a clue about fish let alone uv sterilizers

Believe me I have been water changing, upgrading filters,etc and Its working

When I got the sponge it smelt like petrol, like someone else said, I actually used a different sponge

I have brought the aa 24 watt, its been going for 24 hrs and it is significantly better. Will post when water is completely clear

Hi, I have terrible green water, Its been like this for a month or more. I have done water change after water change and it seems not to be affecting it in anyway. Should I take the Plunge and buy a uv steriliser? What Brand? What size? Tank is 450l, existing filter is pumping 2200 lph I was looking at the 18 watt on petplanet Thanks A.D.

I syphon out the window. And then use a long hose attached to the laundry tub to put water back into the tank. Ps. I match the temperature of the water from the long hose to that of the tank

t8 tubes are 1 inch in diameter and t5 are around half an inch, I dont think you can use t5s in t8 fittings but not completely sure.

I have got a 450l tank and a terrible green water problem. What should I do, it isnt really in direct sunlight and there are only 4 5ft flourecent tubes lighting it. ?

My tank is by Gordon at Critter Kingdom and its great.
