there are many africans you can keep with yellows, yellows generally keep to themselves & are also usually left alone by other aggro fish. i have, in the past had red zebras, peacocks, cobalt blues, red empress, giraffes, fryeri & tropheus with them. you will need to consider how the others will get on rather than how the yellows will cope i believe, what have you got for ideas so far?

i would say spring was the birth time of the hedgehogs & now the teenagers are being booted from home maybe. or they are travelling for food or you could be right, a mate.

It looks to be sufficient, I would stand on it & jump up & down to see how it handles that. if it moves then it's probably not suitable as your tank will probably weigh 4 times more than you. it has the back panels which is better than a diagonal brace but it may need more fixings to strengthen it properly.

so far i have turned my fish over every 2 years or so as i get bored with them & want something different. i started with angels etc, then into africans & now moved to keeping tropheus. this is because i don't have the space for all the tanks i would need for all the fish i want so ahve to prioritise which are the ones i want most.

i use the spraybar pointed up to agitate the surface, its silent as appoesed to a small hum from the air pump. I have had one issue with that though, snails grow in my canister so when they get to the spraybar & they are too big to get out the spraybar holes they clog a hole. what this does is increase pressure through the others so when a few holes are blocked a jet can be created through the flowing holes & get strong enough to spray out of the water & onto the underside of the hood.

mistakes are made & fragile things get broken in transit, that is reality. The fact is it's broken so now it needs to be repaired, i hope it was the front or now can be the front so it will look like a brand new tank. there is often a positive from negative or it could always be worse.

maybe they are stressed, every one of them are faded? obvious question but are the water conditions all ok? you have nothing to loose i guess so try as pheonix has suggested & i would also do a water change as well.

it may simply be they were asleep. other fish loose their colouring when they are netted or stressed etc, are they still faded now? Often when i go out to my garage where i have tanks & turn the light on they are asleep, peacocks & empress often aren't showing much colour.

something about these boys & their fish? he used to spend alot of time when he was young watching them but not so much now. this is a common site in winter, the hood is aluminium so warms up from the lights.

:lol: that makes me laugh so hard for two reasons, you know the first one but the other is that my cousin is the store manager at briscoes up here & he was moaning about the same thing. he gets heaps for Whanganui & his stuff often goes there to.

Why do you do this?

spray will on the outside only, the glass makes it smooth as long as you have enough paint to cover all the glass i used resene test pots, its been a year i guess & is still looking great.
