  7. hey FF, threads will always branch in differing directions depending on what is said. they never only get pics in a "post your pics" thread so you may want to consider there are sideroads to this highway of information & opinions
  8. we watched the movie nemo & got a 30L tank for my daughter for her birthday. it evolved to being my hobby
  9. from what i have read & what nz & aussie keepers have said duboisi don't cross with anything & have the best temprement. ikola & pembas etc will cross for sure.
  10. thats just packaging for shipping is it not? i use the clamps that came with the jebo heaters that failed. they are designed to be vertical i think so their bracket works sweet that way. good choice si, they also have a 3 year warranty.
  11. i suspect that the substrate does far more good than the bacteria in a filter, i have always started fresh tanks with existing substrate from another tank, added fish the following day & had no losses. i know of others that have used an existing filter but new substrate & have had major issues when adding fish shortly after setting up.
  12. what do they look like? it had a white plastic thingie for when it was in the box, is that the same thingie?

    Hello

Hi & welcome. on the oxygen side of things you have a couple of easy choices, use an air pump or use you filter to disturb the surface of the water which will in turn oxygenate the water.
  14. my lfs has there's lying on the bottom of their sump.
  15. the new jagers are fully submersable, only the top inch or so can be out of the water though. it will fit on an angle & from the tip to the end of the element its 340mm.
  16. i do & also believe that jagers is correct. my 300W easily out performs 2 150w heaters i had of another brand.
  17. you bidding for a job on the old management team?
  18. the jager! the 300w is rated for tanks up to 1000L! its just over 500mm long 8)
