  1. could get a decent thermostat, convert fridge, add fan and ya set for many a clutch or cooling thermostat, + heating thermostat, reasonable fridge (glass doors looks the part), wire up thermostats, maybe add fan. hey presto bigger better version of those cooling incubators on the market otherwise homobators are ok. probably make something similar easy enough, aint much to em humidy in containers is important, not so much in the incubator (depending on your method slightly i suppose) grats on the eggs
  2. looks to be pure peat, no obvious slow release ferts anyway. from above site "Free of toxic substances, pests, diseases & weed seeds" she be rite, just dont eat it all at once
  3. http://www.yates.co.nz/products/pots-an ... peat-moss/ never noticed the sphagnum on the label before, anyway thats all good that stuff.
  4. why would it have fertilisers in, its not potting mix now is it. is used in potting mix but shouldnt have any ferts in standard peat, other than natural ones maybe. read bag if unsure
  5. Thats cool, have to admire mother nature. Be interesting to see what results long term.
  6. True, think the first 6months to a year makes all the diff, and or some just have different temperaments.
  7. cheers, so even drier again :-? i just use plastic take away containers, theyre not 100% airtight do you think thats my problem? maybe better off with click clack type containers..
  8. pretty cool for a nude clown
  9. Thats pretty much what I've always done. Thought I would try to do it by weight (no/less room for error). I wonder if vermiculite contains different moisture levels around the world. I see atleast one site overseas mentions 2:1
  10. 50%? i tried the 1:1 as mentioned elsewhere for beardie eggs. so say 60grams verm + 60grams H2O to me looks on the dry side? dug up some turtle eggs (not bds but still, same sort of deal?) to test this method, sure enough dimpled over a couple of days. Being a bit casual I always use to just wet verm, let excess drain from container, plonk eggs in. Worked good as for red ears, but questionable for beardies. Anyway, please can some one shed some light.
  11. they do look pretty geekish look good with glasses i reckon
  12. i wouldnt mind trying something similar at some stage some how some where some day. this is the one i came across recently, think someone posted link here or over yonder site http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forum ... p?t=329022
  13. yep, one of the best setup's ive ever seen was as per LA mentions.
  14. why you bid on the auction then, scam
  15. probably best not to  Yeah breeding them for a few gens should give us more understanding. Only one small spawn from albino so far this season, couple infertile. My record is 4months croaking, lots of failed amplexing = finally one lot of eggs  they really are a good challenge thats for sure. Id say by 2020 i should have some ready for sale
  16. i think its simple really, that frog is just missing a pair of jeans.
  17. True, thats interesting. So one can hold a gene, even genes for something yet show no physical trait, partial trait, or full trait like albino.
  18. from albino and a split pairing so could be split, splity split or maybe non split lol, im no genetics expert though half belly trans green banana split sounds good to me
  19. captive bred. when it was younger it looked (for memory as i didnt take alot of notice as thought it would gain normal colour) like it had a transparent stomach. some albinos when young seem to have transparent stomachs aswel. But of the couple ive grown on they have gained the normal white stomach. this green one looks like it may hold onto the trait though...
  20. yeah eh, looks like it hopped in some bleach
  21. check out this frog, seems to be missing a little pigment?
  22. very good indeed. bet theyre becoming rather active now. whats the temprament like of that male eastern. mines very scittish, hope he mellows with age, if not i can see him stressing him self out to the point of getting il if i let my guard down  . females i raised in past where reasonably mellow just like vitticeps..
