  3. thought the one i gave you was male? cant imagine them being too hard to breed. I just want to try something different. Dont think ive ever seen a really small one of these spiders. edit, true i had two females, dur  i want a male or 2 if anyone finds any
  4. yeah i can find the webs/tunnels. being patient enough to get them out is another story...hmmm may have to get the chainsaw out

  6. great photo. it's amazing how skinny they are after laying eh. then again how they bounce back so quick after a couple of decent feeds.
  7. nope sorry, ive only got a small number of tadpoles and want those to replace a couple of frogs which passed over winter. my adult whistlers look like they may breed soon, if so then yes will probably have some. while im on the tadpole photo buzz, here's another. day/2 old and 2/3week olds, eating leaf,
  8. whistling tree frog taddie, front legs forming. transparent tadpoles 8)
  9. males get black nuptial pads (on their thumbs) when in season.
  10. my turtle pond uncovered hardly ever gets under 18C over summer. if its a reasonably sized pond shouldnt drop in temp too much at night.. on sunny days upto 30 at a guess. top layer of water would be anyway, guppies survived summer and bred well, they appeared to bask alot. top layer of water gets warmest from the sun etc.
  11. seen some neat indoor turtle ponds online. heating would be similar to heating a fish room id imagine. best to insulate and heat the entire room imo.
  12. Turtle pond cover took a beating in a storm a few weeks ago. Then a sparrow somehow got in, dog tried to chase it and did a bit more damage . Anyway finally tidied it up again this avo. Use to be coverd in fine bird netting, went for plastic this time, should be ok.
  13. if its covered in snails by the next morning. then your overfeeding the plecos = food for snails, result, heaps of snails. i like them, i use to put them in my tanks but they never multiplied considerably :-?
  14. nice backyard, no lawns to mow huh very nice pics
  15. yeah theyre like that lol, you may find he just needs a vacation down this way for a while.
  16. cheers. very healthy looking frog you have there.
  17. Thanks Zev. Couple more of the whistles redline whistler
  18. pretty sure theyre eggs??? either that or poop, but i hatched some smaller yet similar things from the little housemoths recently. so im pretty sure they are eggs.... my mother was given it (to pass onto me) presumably already dead but apparently the moth came alive the other night, and those little black things were in the container come the next morning. housemoths often do the same if stuck in a container ive found..
