  1. just saw these while browsing thought TM and saw these unique colored axies. their according to the seller a white and albino split. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 149207.htm
  2. yep just displaying. if u look closer he doesn't actually touch them at all so they're not getting hurt in anyway.
  3. loving those claro's blue, i am very jealous indeed. rcon more plecos?! ur going to need more tanks soon.
  4. i had them when i was younger living over sea, they sell them as eggs and u can watch them grow kind of sea monkey/BS for kids. i recall they have a ridiculous short life span like 90days or something so unless someone is breeding them i doubt we have any in NZ.
  5. i believe so, i have Eleocharis acicularis thriving in my main pond which drops to around 8 during winter.
  6. what sort of fish are we talking about? whitespot is always around and u cant really get rid of it completely but they will only bother fish when they're at a weak state or stressed.
  7. if ur able to keep ur pond that clean i don't see why not.
  8. i have ambulia growing out door in barrels for over 2 years but not very well. the barrels stay warm enough the lilys dont die off over winter.
  9. shiuh, u can get them live now but u have to catch them ur self great fun too.
  10. penguinleo its just the same reason why we dont get a lot of things in NZ. for them [DOC/MAF] if its not already in the country then lets not have them at all as its one thing less to worry about. alextret u must be talking about Prawn park in Taupo. i recommended that place its great fun even if u dont like eating prawns/shrimps.

  12. just got back from goldfish pagoda and unfortunately he cant get anymore as it was an one off. he had 5 set. but i found this guy on trademe which sells similar types but no where near as good price wise, bought some plant scissors off him and they were real good quality stuff. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listin ... er=1890417
  13. i use it for plecos for there just all lying around for them to use as caves. not standing up like in the pic above. not sure on that one, i was referring to just normal bamboo.
  14. no kidding, i just tried to explain it with words and just couldn't so here is some pics. this is what blue is suggesting to do [from what i understand] but since it has an ceramic diffuser than its not a bell diffuser so this would not work this is what Brianemone is suggesting which would be the way i would do it too. they looks like ADA stuff which i love. hope that helped.
  15. cant believe i missed out cuz i go there every week, must have been on the top self [i am a shorty  ] is there are ceramic disc in that diffuser?
  16. only if its fresh stuff so use dried/dead bamboo. i use tonnes of if in my tanks. might lower ur PH depends on the amount u use but that goes with just normal driftwood anyway. not necessary a bad thing either.
  17. no, i asked cuz i've read they have white seams when young and grow out of it but have never seen photo evident or had it confirmed by a breeder. interesting to see how long the seam stays and how their pattern change with age. keep these pics coming :bounce:
  18. hard to tell from the pic does the little guys have white seam of their fins?
  19. they're pretty nocturnal so check ur tank at night/lights off
