    heat packs

We have shipped rather a few fish in the past and yep we stick with the heat packs! Never know what the weather is about to do, especially with the weird weather patterns..... Better to be safe than sorry Mekhaela
  2. Welcome to the Forum Steve We keep mostly freshwaters, mostly African species, however we do have a marine tank, awesome bow front tank, approx 160 litres, it's been awesome to keep however, we are having to make room in the place we are in, until we move, so we are parting with it. But keeping the fish out at hubbys work, for when we move to bigger place and eventually have another one  Good Luck with your marine tank venture and I am sure there are heaps on the forum that will guide you Mekhaela
  3. Sorry to hear you lost your Altum Mekhaela

    Apistogramma

Hey There Stu The Marleri are doing great.. growing up fast, we also have the Transcriptus, and they are like litte torpedos in the tank, rather hilarious to watch. Sounds like you are having an awesome time with your Apistos , I might send you a pic or two of the ones I have and see what you think they might be. I have rather a few fry from them that have grown up now also. Mekhaela
  5. Great looking tank, love the sand you have used. Mekhaela

  9. Think I will just stick to silver dollars, they look cool enough
  10. Hiya Mine were also from NZ Discus, and looking at my Apistos and your pics, I would say they are definately the same. I have about 40 fry that are at the bigger stage now, and they are real tough argumentative little critters  Good Luck with the breeding! And yeah I am keeping a close eye on the website, looked good last time I saw it. Mekhaela
  11. Forgot the whole purpose of replying to.. those Apisto you have pictured are very much like what I have. Where did you get them from? Mekhaela
  12. Hi Supasi I found the website that I had found the information on the Melgar, however apparently it is under reconstruction, hopefully when it is up and running again it might have more information. I am pretty sure what I have is Nanay Melgar, according to forum overseas. Whatever I have, they have bred and I have a heap of young. I want to get confirmation of what I have tho before I do anything with the young, frustrating  Mekhaela

    Fron Babies

Hiya Here are a couple of pics of our new additions, we have 12 Fron babies and we have had our new 8ft tank arrive to be set up as their long term home, along with our other 6fter as another abode. They have personality plus already! And eat like horses lol. Just hope the pics work, haven't ever posted pics before.. Mekhaela
  17. Oh another thing I forgot, I feed them up big time on earth worms, maybe that gives them the urge
  18. Sending heaps of chocolate cichlid egg vibes your way... My pair spawned again, and then showed interest in spawning again and then he decided to give her a knock around instead... to the point where I had to seperate the two for a few days for her to recoup.. A big water change normally gets mine going, and when we get a southerly funnily enough. Mekhaela
  19. Hi We bought rather a few what we ordered as Apisto sp. Melgar from the lot of the Peru imports that came into NZ.. The females that we have a dead ringers of the one you have in that pic there... We are rather confused with what we have as there have been so many different theories on what they really are... I have found one source on the internet that does infact say that what we have is Melgar as the photos are exactly what we have.. Mekhaela
  20. Hi Paul Congrats on the newbies.. Hey btw, how are the Chocolate Cichlids doing? Managed to breed any of them as yet? Mekhaela
  21. Hi IOU1 They work out to be around $150 each roughly, retail. Anyway I have messaged you about the Dumerilii Mekhaela
  22. I definately will try and get them to do something, as long as the 2 keen have the right bits needed  And will keep the forum posted on whether or not they spawn. And if so and all goes well will definately have some available to anyone keen
  23. We especially ordered them, they weren't in the shop, not sure how many shops actually ordered them in as they were horrendously expensive at wholesale when they were put on list . If you are keen, hopefully if mine spawn, I would have some available at a later date if you are interested. There are two that are definately showing some interest. I am not sure if there were altums, however, something is ringing a bell. Mekhaela
