  1. Yes, and I have already blamed you for that one... viewtopic.php?f=10&t=44228&start=45
  2. Like the vid! What sort of Tillandsia is that? I have seen a finer one, but that looks quite coarse.
  3. Aww shucks - thanks Caryl.... Good to see some new faces, and Wok did not get anywhere near putting me in with the sharks Did you manage to get the local weekend paper Caryl? I have the Saturday one if you did not, and can find the Friday one if you want that too.
  4. Well done - so how many different types of corys have you bred to date? We may have to start calling you the Cory King!
  5. Ha - I gave Jim r a piece yesterday that hardly fit in the boot of his car, let alone in a pot on the stove! Nice to meet you over the weekend too, k1w1y2k. Did you get the wood from off the beach by the Aquarium?
  6. Arrrggghhhhhh!!!! I forgot to give the books to Caryl - I will blame her, because on Saturday night I told her to remind me to give them to her before she left! We got a bit preoccupied with her Leopardfish re-bagging when she set off this morning:(
  7. Hi Nymox, welcome back - if only temporarily! Good on you for looking out for the little guy, hope all goes well for both of you.
  8. Hi wallacevanpete, welcome to the forums. What size is the pond and how deep is it? I know little about ponds, but would suggest that whatever you do, do not empty it and scrub it out, there will be some good bacteria living in the yuck stuff in the bottom. As Carlos & Siran have suggested, some surface agitation may be necessary as the oxygen levels in the water decreases as the temperature increases, so breaking the surface will go some way to increasing the oxygen levels, this could be why the fish are gasping at the surface. Some members more knowledgeable in ponds may be of more help.
  9. Fighters I can cope with, just checking it was not larger than any of my 2ft tanks or even smaller holding tanks - like an arowana or something I can pick it up and you can pay me back, send me the details. If you cannot find someone who is heading up your way from here, I can get it couriered, but since I do not do bulk stuff, it may not be cheap.
  10. Do they grow into their tails, or do they always look like they should have legs of their own?
  11. Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons... would it be more stable with a solid bottom?
  12. lol, lets all ignore the octopus and covet the airpump! There used to be one on the shelf at Wetpets, but I doubt it is for sale.
  13. What sort of fish Sam? If it is not too big I can hang on to it for a bit until you arrange something. Your timing sucks - Wok just went back to Auckland yesterday!
  14. I think your best bet for info would be Livingart. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30779
  15. Your media is usually your live rock, it houses the bacteria, or the controversial sand bed or DSB. Some people run filters but put phosphate or nitrate removers in them rather than sponges and ceramics. As breakaway says, the sump is used to increase the overall literage of your setup and hide the ugly stuff, like the skimmer and heater.
