I've heard that Three Spot or Pearl Gouramis will eat Hydra.
  9. I love my BNs heaps, I have them in most of my tanks. They do a great job of cleaning up left over food, they're cute and interesting to watch and they breed easy. They were the first fish that bred for me and I can still remember how excited I was when I first saw a male in a cave protecting his eggs :bounce: :bounce:

  13. Hi AquaVitamins. Those readings show that the first part of the cycle is over i.e. there is a colony of bacteria happily consuming the Ammonia and turning it into Nitrite. When the readings show 0.00 Nitrite the cycle is over. There will always be some Nitrate and weekly waterchanges will keep this under control.
  14. I am like you and its handy to know about the frozen ones. Cheers for the heads up 8)
  15. If they've spawned once they should spawn again without any encouragement, at least that's my experience with normal BNs. I've found the best thing to do is nothing

  17. Sorry to repeat myself but the answers can be found here This is from the article.... "The adjusted temperature should be maintained for approximately 10 days, or a minimum of 3 days after all signs of the parasite have disappeared. Do not discontinue treatment when the spots go away. This is critical, because we know that they are visible only as a trophont on the body of the host, and not during the reproductive or free-swimming stage. We also know that trophonts on the gills are impossible to see."
