Hey i was just wondering if anyone knew why we never get any of the big catfish species in NZ, like the shovelnoses etc.??

sas we have done a bit of resurch in to the jardini and most people say that once they hit the 8" mark they become very agressive and have killed other big fish..thats why we are not take the chance and putting him in a tank of his own... so just letting u know to keep a close eye on ur fishy if u want to feed live fish wy dont u start breeding guppys

sas dont get him hooked on the live feeders lol becomes very expensive what elce he in with? our siver ate our clown loches he happly lived with them when he was a baby then one day they where gone and i dont think pleco ate them .. our baby jardini is in my tank with other fish but the smallest is 2 inch golden barb so fingers crossed he does not snack on them be for we can move him to his new home. dont u just love big fishys gosh i cant spell lol (fixed now)

arnt u spoilt.. regarding tank size i would recomend going longer then 6 foot and wider then 2 foot if u can... our siver is in a 7x2x2 and this seems small and he is the only fish in there.also leave lots of swimming space and make sure there are no sharp rocks or wood as they swim around fast and can get caught on things.also they grow fast we have had ours for about a year and a half and hes over 2 foot long

was in holly wood on the shore yesterday they have a baby one and also a half growen one too.. so go have al ook there dont know what the price. why dont u try finding out whats wrong with your guy and medicate it? also if u get a new one what u going to do with the old one?

i know that if i had anything breeding i would spend more time playing with the fish then doing my uni stuf plus there is not a meturnal bone in my body ... im one of the few women who dont go gaga over babies... i think i wil see what myother half think about it all. i would hate for the male to start being horrid to my butterfly fish or knife fish or bishers ect..as they are my pride and joy. i knew the angel fish plan was going to back fire on me

to make my mum happy about my big bad fish i bought her 4 little marbled angles... just noticed that i now have eggs and a proud mum but a rather angry daddy fish whos pretty much shreded the other angle fishes tail . poor thing. so ummm what should i do? should i keep the pair and pass on the other two or keep the other two and pass on mum and dad? keep in mind i like oddballs and i dont have time money or space to bring up bubbas...... :roll: help

if u want a gold stripe maroon clown i know there is one at hollywood fish farm on the north shore of auckland but thats probaly too far away... good choice of fish, so beautiful

farmgirl we sound very much alike my small property on auckland nothshore has 5 cats 1 bird 1dog and 6 tanks plus a pond. out on coatsville i have my pony but if we lived on a farm all hell would break losse as i know mum wants sheep,pigs and chickens agen . do u go on horsetalk ? if u do im dancing_horses...

the staf member was very concerned about it... she said not meany people where intrested in them and she was going to talk to one of the other staf members about it and what they should do hopefully it will get sorted out fast. will check in to the store sometime this week since i need more plants

ok just leting you know that there are still there in said shop and i had a wee chat with one of the staf about it

i was lucky and my house had the power stay on but when we built on to our house the electrition screwed up and we had no power for a few days. i managed to get by wih a generator just running my filters (i have a few) and we put newzpaper and blankets over the tanks. one tank got quite cold so we got a few old water bottles fulled them up with hot water(love the gass) and floated them on to of the water. i think the most fun was getting to call work and telling them i was not coming in because i was watching my tanks .. oh plus i had not showered that day
