disgustipated
im keen to go to lake pupuke soon and have a look. i live within walking distance. but, the last time i was there, the weeds were just out of control, much of it rotting above the waterline... couple weeks ago i was there, and there was bugger all access to any water that wasn't chocka with weeds... i usually have no trouble netting gambusia there from the waters edge but. now those weeds have overtaken! Rabbit
Weeds mean rotting vegetation and that will lead to daphnia there food source.
disgustipated
good point... might be worth a try. what method would be best to catch these guys. netting by hand i guess? im sure they are very hard to see from the surface. maybe a trap like stella uses with really fine mesh...
