all about balance. not sarcastic, but if you think about the fate of most fish in the wild.... being slowly digested alive by a bigger fish, or being slowly poisoned by pollutants, an aquarium seems like paradise.

as long as the keeper puts in the effort to make it as comfortable as possible.

People attribute fish with human emotional traits they do not possess. It's natural to them to be living in the wild and all the danger that goes with it. It's not natural that we put them in a secure environment and give them names and processed food but we still do it. :cofn:

I think that is the key point here, an aquarium SHOULD be just like a cosy replica of an animals natural environment (IMO) and with very specific feeders like nudi's that isn't exactly simple.

I think the point was not about keeping those animals in a aquarium that can be provided for and looked after - its about taking animals that WILL NOT survive, fullstop. Our local nudi's are mainly specialist feeders - i.e. they fed on one type of sponge or 1 type of hydroid that will not grow in our tanks.

trouble is we see it alot - throw some water in a 30l tank, bit of beach rock and a jasons nudibranch - aarrgghh!!
