F15hguy Posted September 18, 2012 Report Share Posted September 18, 2012 I'm finding a lot of websites advocating the use of regular table salt instead of paying more for pure salt as a treatment for diseases. I would have thought the issue with the added Iodine and the anticaking agent sodium silico aluminate would be an issue. anyone have any thoughts on this???? Godly3vil Posted September 18, 2012 Report Share Posted September 18, 2012 I used to regularly use normal table salt and never had any issues with it, seemed to help with whitespot and a few small fungal issues I have had. My father was the one who told me to use it, he bred tropical fish for over 30 years and they always used table salt. Reckons it's a cure all for nearly everything lol. alanmin4304 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Share Posted September 18, 2012 Seawater is also good as a source of salt for treatment and no doubt has a lot more extras than table salt (if fact every soluble thing that has been washed into waterways on its way to the sea).
