PuffaDragonNZ
what about the ARISTO 3lts twin turbo 8)
Ira
I'd go with a stock S15. No need to go with with a body kit.
fulloc
s15s probably about the best reliabilty and performance wise. but youre gonna be chucked in the boy racer bracket. audi rs6 is also beautiful and fast and 4door. just off the top of my head
Ira
audi rs6 is also beautiful and fast and 4door. just off the top of my head Yeah, and a $60K car fits really nicely into the "About $20K" price range.
Aaron-Betta
It's hard to be "different" these days. There's a nice red forester on trademe. Or there's legacy rs's, Dc5 tegs, tezza's, Airtrek turbo 4wd If happy with a 2001 car, there's a 2001 AC schnitzer BMW(14k) and a 2001 300gt skyline
Romeo
Toyota Chaser would be nice, too bad it's a '98 and a bit pricey. If it were me I'd be more inclined to ditch the "unique" approach and just pick up a nice early stock Evo - either that or turn to the dark side and go European. In all honesty I'd probably just buy an '87 Starlet and one of these :].
LYNDYLOO
Well I would have to say these, as each of my Son's own one Nissian Skyline GTR Honda Integra Type R or Honda Civic Toyota Supra Toyota Celica Ford XR8 ( This is my Toy not the Boys)

paul_r
yea he has always had a soft spot for the altezzas, test drove one but was not happy with the 2.0l na power, we will be looking into the lexus is300 and checking if its any better i like the rarer toyotas, such as chaser aristo etc, but its not me buying a car. i suggested the likes of an evo 7, xr6 turbo, r34 skyline etc but looks like we will wander through car yards in tauranga, hamilton and see what jumps out at him. he doesnt know much about cars so hes taking a few of us along to help him out
bronze-dragon
SUPRA 3L turbo!!! You cant beat a supra for power and handling
Barrie
how about a Diahatsu Move... probably under $5000 and that leaves about $15000 for a deposit on a home. 5 Years time the car will be worth say $3500 and the home will be 30% dearer so you will still have your car and will also have your money back
paul_r
trust me Barrie i have tried to tell him that many times, he already has a nice enough vr4 legnum, but he rekons its getting too old. His money not mine, and at least i will get to sober drive a nice car

imsweet
Go the Hilux! Amen! Nothing like a good ole lux that can really be treated like a vehicle should be. I'd have a boring old holden suburban (american type) or chevy ute with a goosneck horse trailer towing behind. hmmmmm big cars
Cricketman
+1 the utes! if he got a legnum, y not look at something similiar, like a libero x, 4wd, 2.2l doch and some are turbo, and if N/A manifolds etc are readily available for them
paul_r
i think he wants something with a bit of style that will impress the ladies. has a vr4 legnum and doesnt like it any more wants something faster with more style and newer etc utes are awesome but if he got one would never use 4wd and the deck would never have anything on the back, so impractical for him
suphew
and the deck would never have anything on the back Sounds like he needs a Holden Ute then
