Cheesejawa
Wouldnt the poo get mixed up in it and you would have to change it? I always wondered how you clean reptile tanks.

Varanophile
the silica sand from stone and water world has a warning on the large bags- it says you must use a mask when applying as the dust is carcenogenic shame as it looks really good and the lizards leave really cool track patterns in it. rockwork
hae we use fine sand in our enclosure and never had any probs with it. our beardies lick it and eat it sumtimes but it just passes through. as for the poos, it is really easy to get out with a kity litter sieve. we buy our sand from the local garden shop or mitre 10 mega. livingart
about 20 years ago a friend had a bluetomgue in a 4 footer, withh really fine sand, it died. the problem was not so much the fine sand but a combination of the fine sand, lack of good ventalation and humidity humidity had helped increase bacteria in the sand and had been inhaled into lungs and ingested sand on food bluey died of a bacterial infection in lungs and gut
