Cleaning algae off the tank glass

yep another neat freak with a tank. and yet in the beginning it seemed like such a tidy hobby. lol.

So the front of my 2ft is covered in spots of green algae. My pleco and catfish dont seem so interested and my SAE could care less... what is it and how do I clean it off without annoying the precious wee fishies?

Cheers, all.

old credit cards make the BEST algae scrapers. Not only the most effective I have used, but the least able to pick up bits of grit and scratch the glass (learned this the hard way :(

And once you have perfected your set-up, it is pretty much all that credit card can be used for! ;)

I tried using the magnet again and it does work... just slowly. I think I should have used it earlier than now.

but I brought a couple of plastic scrapers from mitre 10 mega yesterday as the edge looks a lot like a credit card and tried using it last night. It really does work quite well. So the mans credit card is safe for now.
