The next morning all kuhli's are slim, and all the apistos are very fat, and happy  , one day im gonna try to set up a tank for them and see what happens

  5. Have been informed that the meeting time will now be at midday in Raglan instead of 3pm as previously mentioned 8)
  6. I have 9 Apisto trifasciata fry which are 5 months old now, and i can now tell the diference between male and female with some of them. Last week i decided to breed zebra danios in the tank next to them, they have all hatched, and now my largest female has taken too protecting the danio fry through the glass It is really funny to watch her keep her siblings at the other end of the tank. Im hoping this will improve her parenting skills for when she has fry of her own. Anyone else had somthing like this happen??? http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a230/ ... Feb008.jpg
  7. I have also found that a good squirt of methylene blue (once the parents have been removed) will prevent the eggs from fungising. Good luck :bounce:
  8. You can talk to the Killies COOL!!!!!!!!!!! I dident realise Killifish was a language Daniel, I guess KK will soon be KillieKrazy
  9. I finaly got a good pic of one of my guppys I have been working with these for about a year now, and they have been breeding true for about 4 months. I have recently found another male of simaler colour, so i have put him with my females, but am expecting a few throw backs.
  10. Just a update, After where i had used my fingers to squeze him and release the pressure, it fungised, really bad, to the point that when the fungus cleared it left a large hole in the side of his stomach, and i could see all the insides Keeping with regular water changes (at least once every other day) and alot of melafix, his stomach has healed completley. He looks a bit deformed around his tummy and vent fins (they also rotted off) but other than that he looks to be in great health and will be looking to release him from Q in the next week or so
  11. At this Sundays meeting Alan will be joining us to tell us all about killies, and im shure that he will answer any questions we might have, he will even be bringing some killies to sell. Topic of the month is Algae, so im shure that all your questions about algae will be ansered as well. New members are welcome Shane

  14. that pic was my first attempt which had 2 females and 3 females, i think that would have been fine but i dident add Methylene Blue. my second attempt with the same setup was 2 females and 1 male, and that has given me the fry. http://mike-edwardes.members.beeb.net/Drerio.html is the site i used for refrence for my spawnings. :bounce: :bounce:

  17. Thats wat i was thinking John, kill 2 birds with stone.....
  18. just a update, On my first atempt things went well, i used a large net and sat it in the tank and put the danios in the net (2f, 3m). After only 1 night the bottom of the tank was covered in eggs, i removed the adults, but the eggs fungesed within 2 days. On my second attempt, i did the same thing, but the eggs where scattered on the second night, i removed the adults again but this time i gave the tank a squrt of Methylene Blue. Most of the eggs hatched this morning and im stuck with the job of feeding all these little guys  Any advise for feeding??? I do have a infusoria culter going, but wondering if there is anything better, And advise on how/when to feed
