    Nice big tank.

Size: about 9.8 x 4.3 x 2.8 ft. frontglas made of LSG Optiwhite nice size tank
  2. You should notice changes in the acropora within a month, however to get the maxium out of the aminos you need to get nitrate below 5ppm and po4 under .03. Higher levels will cause acopora to go brown.
  3. I have found that amino acids are more for acropora. Have not noticed and major changes in other coral.
  4. Yes it is specific brand, most bulbs are not 14k, and it is just a marketing hype. Its looks a bit blue so they call it 14k or 20k. For example BLV is a reputable company and there 14k is so white and bright. The PAR rating is pretty high. The higher the K rating the less light the bulbs puts out and it does not last as long before it losses its spectrum

  6. Joe They are not easy unless you have them in a tank on there own. I feed reef roids and reef booster food at night. i dont spot feed, it is early days as i have only had them for 3 months.
  7. Most of the problems might be solved if the media was bigger, larger media means more flow and less clogging as small media breaks down too quick, Edited. Bill Mod.

    Nice big tank.

dont ask me that as i will be forced to put more picks up of my tank. who is ivan? do you mean iwan

    Nice big tank.

yea pretty much agree with that, nice and tidy

    Nice big tank.

I like his dispar anthias, i wonder how long he can keep them alive. Hard fish to keep long term unless you power feed them daily
  11. The reason could be that the media has dissolved as too much co2 is going in the reactor. Media breaks down at about 6.5ph, any more and the reactor can go cloudy and then clog up. Bigger the media the better. You will get more flow and reactor won’t block. Product plug removed Bill Mod.

    Nice big tank.

That is a nice tank and setup. but is it that great? nice photos but nowhere near as nice as steve weast tank. To be fair also it is a new tank so would be nice to see it in 6 months time. I have always believed the Germans have generally the best tank. Lots of there methods have been around for a long time and it is only now that they are being imported into the USA that people are taking notice. Again subjective as i am German.
  13. Turbastrea coral. Please be aware that it was imported by me, so comments might be subjective as seen by some.

    HELP flat worms???

I think your dig would be fair enough if I was trying to sell/ promote the product but I don’t see a post which I deliberately promote flatworm exit. I did not even start the thread. Flatworms can kill fish so i though i would add value by telling everyone how to use the product correctly.

    HELP flat worms???

and again what reason is that?
  16. 6500k is the best with lots of blue floros

    HELP flat worms???

    What reasons would that be
  18. But if you give it longer contact time then the media will desolve and clog the reactor.
  19. Look at the type of reactor you are using now and compare the design with a Deltec. Deltec fluidise the media so you get better contact time. More water can be put through the reactor so more c02 can also be input.
  20. When you put co2 in the reactor it can only only dissolve so much media and like calcium chloride you can only put so much calcium in a bucket before it falls out. I guess a reactor would work the same way. As mentioned it also depend what type of reactor you have. Can more water be put in a bigger reactor?? No really as if you look at all the reactors they have the same fittings so more water going in is not an option. Can you get more c02 in a bigger rector? No as too much co2 then the reactor will stop working as it will force the water out. Reactors efficiency can be increased by either adding more co2 or increasing the flow. You could also add some pure calcium chips. However the kh is the most important part of the reactor as good KH levels gives good growth. Another thing about a reactor is that it is only as good as the media you put in. some media is good and some not so good, also having larger calcium chips is better as you get better flow in a reactor so you get better contact time. Bigger reactors have bigger pumps so you get good circulation. Reactors efficiency can also be increased by running it longer or all night. So to some degree a bigger reactor is not better based on the article and my experience using many reactors.
  21. Better put the post back on track. Additives added. Every two weeks, biodigest, bioptum. reef booster. twice week, reef roids or reef booster. Weekly, strontium, iodine, trace elements, reef solution. Daily, concentrated amino acids from reef star. 20 drops.

    HELP flat worms???

siphon them out over two days, once you have siphoned them out on day one blast the rocks with a power head to see how many more come out, then siphon on the second day and then treat as per my instructions
  23. It is a myth that a bigger calcium reactor will maintain a tank to degree. If you are adding the same amount of co2 then it will exit about the same kh. No matter what size it is, but depend what reactor you have. Most use a slow exit reactor. Having a bigger reactor means you don’t have to fill it up so often. I have to find the article that explains it. It’s been some time that I read it .

    HELP flat worms???

That is maybe why you only have patches of them, they have to be feeding on something. I have had flatworms when i have been overfeeding for some time, Seen many tanks with flatworms and all have had excess nutrients. low nurients means they have no food so they are limit in numbers, high nutrients and they have lots of food to multiply.
