  1. I fail to see how bits of rowaphos is going to kill fish/shrimps, Used it for over 5 years and no deaths , even after i some of it went in my sump where i have a few fish and shrimps. Rowaphos can be a problem if you add to much and it drops your kh/ph to low. other than that it wont kill your fish by have some go in the tank. when adding rowaphos i always raise my Kh levels to allow for the ph drop.

    BEST LIVE ROCK

Try deco city pets. They should have base rock. Will go live as it matures.
  3. I think any bottle over 500gr needs a LAB number. I look into it years ago and even if it passes the test OSH will not approve the bottles. I still have a brand new 5kg bottle laying around. I would take them to the small claims , there is no way they should have done that to your bottle. Write them a complaint letter saying you want a replacement bottle or you will take it to small claims. at least it will look better in court if they don't get you a new bottle.

  5. , would be nice but will be hard to do and not worth as you would not sell many.

    FISH/CORAL PROJECT

Hard to get. Especially red/orange type. Overseas imports tons daily so far better chance to get them. Here is a link of some they get overseas http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/col ... rdias.html

    FISH/CORAL PROJECT

would be great, just use the time you spend on fish sites and that will be more than enough time. If we don't add new species then it is going to be even more limited in a few years.
  9. Would like to try to get a group of hobbyist together to look at adding more species to the Marine allowable list. I need about 2-3 hobbyist who are keen and have some experience in putting together a submission. The work is not hard but takes time. I was looking at adding about 20 species of a mix of corals and fish. Please pm if you can help to add some value to the Hobby.
  10. Daphnia is not a goof nutritional food and will not survive long in saltwater. Good substitute is a mix of foods, Frozen brine shrimp/ white worms. Having a sump with Miracle mud and algae will help with pod growth, You can add a little phytoplankton however it can pollute the tank and cause algae blooms due to the additional nutrition in the tank. Phytoplankton also has fertilisers in it which you have to be careful off.
  11. how do you call flow, equipment?
  12. No they cant be raised, you need a special set up for them. However they are raised by experts however overseas.
  13. Sure the RSM offers a good compromise between cost/quality. I am sure you will see more of them soon. Reef octopus has some out, They will be cheap and the quality will be compromised.
  14. I am sure they could do more, however it all comes down to cost, They are hard to sell with the current pricing so adding a few hundred dollars would not suit most Hobbyist. The main problem with making changes i quess would be that they would have to change the way they make them in the factory which would add huge set up cost, also the red sea brand is not a top quality brand and cover the mid range market. The Jewel tanks look very promising and looks like you can add bits to them
  15. They breed all the time, normally young are released at night just after the lights go off. My fish love it,
  16. How many fish do you want to kill before you upgrade. Good skimmers are not cheap but in the long term it will pay for itself. Your tank is about 400L so it could cost you about $700 for a quality unit.
  17. If you are setting up a 8foot tank you should expect it will cost . The reef octopus might be a good price, but that is about it. It will not be good enough for a 8 foot tank.
  18. The skimmer will work but wont remove organic quick enough. Two most important equipment in reef keeping is skimmer & lighting. So i would not cut cost on these.
