  1. Great to hear that your fish are doing well  The females are different. I will get some pictures over the weekend.
  2. Albino Aulonocara Sunshine/Baenschi Dominant Male
  3. They are synodontis multipunctatus
  4. I don’t usually strip my peacocks or tropheus. I stripped the syno host because i wanted to see what was happening and if it had been successful. I used electric yellow as host and i feel that their eggs are a little larger than syno eggs and that’s probably why the female keeps missing the eggs. Both in the past and now i have got both cichlid and syno fry.
  5. Hi No i have not noticed that behaviour in my fish. But i have noticed this within the synos when the host male starts getting ready to breed. I was watching them spawn and it seemed like the synos were releasing a lot more eggs than what i was stripping out of the holding female. I saw as much as 7 eggs being released by the syno female. The syno eggs hatch within 2-3 days, where as the cichlids hatch after 6 days-depending on the species. If you want more synos to survive you should strip the female a lot earlier and tumble the eggs.
  6. Hope they get released soon :bggrn:
  7. Thanks. Have got another 2 batches after the one above Does anyone have synodontis petricola? They came into the country 2 years ago
  8. Thanks  The Lemons are growing on me, the yellow just seems to get darker and darker with age. Notice the yellow tinge on the females?
  9. Those are some nice fish Mcculloch.
  10. Thanks :bggrn: Spawned them with electric yellows.
  11. my synos and here are the results. They are about 2.5 weeks old.
  12. Coloured - F1 A Lemon Jake Male Female
  13. happing at the moment. Not their first spawn.
  14. Pair breeding - Red Fin Comps
  15. Apart from the cross breeding issue only one male will colour up properly if you have them both in the same tank. I don't like to house more than one male in a 4ft tank.
