This is quite a shock. It is indeed a sad time. Alan helped me so much, so often. Although, I never met him, I considered him one of my New Zealand friends. I will miss him Prayers & condolences to his wife & family Caper

MY first goldfish Sam was white in the middle section of his body and real bright orange at head & the back end. Now, he is still white but the orange has become really, really pale. Now, Beauty who was similar in color (he/she is a fan/veiltail :-? ) is orange all over. Caper

The fish were in the bags that the store used. Others will advise on this, but you folks are heading into summer so just watch they don't get over heated. Keep the bags out of the sun. Caper

I bought fish from a pet store that was a 3-4 hour drive from here. I wrapped the bag in some bubble wrap I had and placed it in an insulated cooler bag. I tried to situate them (I had to cooler bags, I think there were 2 fish bags in each :-? ) in the car where they wouldn't get "bounced" around. They all survived the trip Caper

Ditto re: do not clean filter! Post pics sometime. Careful not to overfeed as well, believe me it is quite easy to do, especially when the fish are screaming GIVE ME MORE WOMAN! :lol: cAPER
