  1. Sorry I can't help...I don't have live plants, too nervous to try yet since I can't seem to keep plants alive that aren't in tanks :-? :-? But there are many folks here who have live plants, I'm sure they'll help you. Perhaps you may have to remove all your plants for the time being, in order to save your fishies. Is it possible to put your plants in the smaller tank if its not big enough for the fish?
  2. If I recall correctly, don't you have to keep treating for at least a couple of days after the white spots are gone from the fish as well? At least the meds I used that time suggested that, and I am pretty sure I've read it on the net and here too 8)
  3. How's your fishy doing Billaney?
  4. Shoot...thought I already posted a reply...hmmm :-? Anyway, thanks Tanksman, excellent illustration. I tried it, but it didn't work. I thought it might because looking at my filter it is not level, so I played with different amounts of cardboard, but nothing worked! But I don't understand, why now it is so bad. Unless, the new stand, umm settled a bit :-? :-? I need to find my measuring tape! What else can I do???? Thanks for all the help folks
  5. When my goldfish had white spot...the treatment I used did turn the water blue when I put it in...sorry, but I don't remember how long...but it did not stay blue. Good to see you took the carbon out because that just absorbs the treatment.
  6. I bet she got the idea from a TV show...I can't remember what show it was but the guy had put bleach in his tank.
  7. Thanks for the help! Darn, I've tried different pieces of cardboard, doesn't work...so I took out the blue filter, no difference...when I take out both filters, its fine :-? :-? Does that mean anything???? And I did give the filter a good cleaning the other night, so I don't think that is the prob. The tank is on a new stand, its been on it since before Xmas with no problems. Can't find my measuring tape  to see if things are off balance...to look at it it doesn't seem to be the water level is just barely below the black and doesn't appear to much difference at all...teeny, tiny bit if any! Okay, now what do you mean about putting cardboard between the glass & filter to tilt it back?????

  9. How much cardboard did you use Mustcooktea? I tried about 1/2 an inch...but the water was still running down the intake side. Then the water that comes out the...ah...the "correct side", heck don't know what its called  is all slewed to the side!
  10. Great Mustcooktea...*Caper runs to find a piece of cardboard*
  11. Thanks BlueandKim! Ah... ...do you mean   ...try to put a piece of cardboard to that the side...okay...let's, see if I can explain: if I'm standing in front of my tank...the intake tube is on my right hand side...do I put the cardboard so that the right side of the entire filter is "higher" on that side????...putting the piece of cardboard between the "ledge" of the tank and the filter??? :-? :-?
  12. Anybody...just on the last thing I posted...since it was the same idea I didn't start a new thread...but now thinking, should have & posted in technical section :-?
