  1. Has your friends seen the females being aggressive towards the male when he's placed in the tank? Maybe they are just hor....harrassing him  I think everybody, including yourself is asking all the right questions, just need answers from your friend I've only male platties...DO NOT WANT females

    Thanks BlueandKim....
  4. Do you vacuum each time? Or do you just take out/put in water when you're doing it that often? What kind of fishies Kookie? I apologize if you've already posted what you have, I have a memory like a sieve :-? :-?

Golly...I sure hope you get who did it!  Okay...I didn't know what LFS was till I was told...but, now, what is LPS??? :-?
  6. Thanks Caryl, do you have chlorine in the water? So than I would have to keep adding the water conditioner to remove the chloramine, right?
  7. Thanks...I was really broken hearted How old is "old" for a molly do you think? I got him this summer but he was only small when I got him so I wouldn't think he was old per say :-? :-?
  8. Hi fishy/animal lover 3 or 9 axolots??? Seahorses...that is awesome...like Bill said, post pics! Anxious to see your tanks and fishies. Take care, Caper
  9. Hi there! Only 10 tanks, I wish Gee, with all those tanks you'll have "tanks full of knowledge" then Post some pics sometime...and have fun here...it is a great site! Ahhh...Alan...you know him, is there anything WE SHOULD know about him...  Take care, Caper
  10. I don't know if he is or not! His eyes look the same, as does the rest of his body...no change that I can tell. However, the last few days when I feed them, it's as if he's not seeing the food. I thought maybe I need to get some fresh stuff but even when I fed them their peas he was the same way :-? If he was indeed blind would I see a "change" in his eyes? Would he be bumping into things??

    Valves

Hmmm...haven't seen the "tees" for them here...will have to check that out when I go to the mall later. Okay...now, I do have another spare air pump that has 2 outlets on it. Maybe I should use this one???
  14.  But you do have to remove them though, I know that you can just let water sit and the chlorine...ah...goes  I was told because our water supply had chloramine (gee, terrible spelling!!!) that I had to add the remover to get rid of it. Is this not true about chloramine? Although, hmmm....I should call our water department to see if it does have it in it since it was the lady at the pet store that told me it did

    Valves

I'm hoping to be able to buy another tank this summer. Have to wait and see what happens since I just got a job! Mind you, have no idea where I'd put it I'm not sure I understand what you mean...no change that, I am not sure what you mean ?

    Valves

I think I already asked this question but I can't find it here...did a search  I'm talking about the valves you can connect air hose to...I know you can use them to connect multiple hoses...but what I need to know is...can they be used to control how much air is getting through (e.g. I have an air pump, but I want to slow down how much is getting through?)????? Or will causing restriction burn out the air pump?
  17. He died on Valentine's Day at that! Fed fishies when I got home for work everything seemed fine...2 hours later...go to get stool I bought so I can sit by the tank and watch my little friends...and there he is head down in the plastic plants Absolutely nothing to indicate that this would happen, he appeared and acted fine all along
  18. My goldfish are always doing that and now that I have my tank moved and is closer to the computer...I hear them "tossing" them about. Now...that I didn't know!!!!!
  19. Sounds like your home is going to be...WOW. You will have to post pics when you can. As far as starting with a smaller tank, I see that as a good chance to get your feet, uh hands wet...ah...tank experience started But do not go too small, I thought that was the right thing to do...NOT! The planned tank between your dining room and lounge (when you folks refer to "lounge" is that the same as what we refer to as "livingroom"?) sounds awesome :bounce: :bounce: I am assuming you will be able to see right through your fishy tank which ever room you are in?
  20. I didn't think water conditioner had any bearing on the pH level, does it? I thought the main purpose of conditioner was to remove cholorine & chloramine?
  21. Is that true for all external cannister filters? I'm thinking, not anytime soon though, of replacing the filter in my 110L. I've only seen one here so far, darn don't remember what kind, will check out and post to get opinions on. Now that I know too much water movement isn't a good thing, I'll have to get the info on it so I can get the advise of you wise people :bounce: :bounce:
  22. Glad things are ok Billaney :bounce: :bounce:
  23. Hi Banaro I hope Peanuts has warned you...this hobby is an addiction that will lead to full blown MTS :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: of which there is no cure :bounce: :bounce: Kookie...YIPPEE on the tank...is it in good shape...weren't you kind of worried about it being left outside for you to pick up! Nice big one tank wow :bounce: :bounce: Have fun Banaro, Caper
