He seems to be doing better...the tail seems to have stopped "disintegrating"...and he is swimming around more, as opposed to staying at the top of the tank. Tomorrow will be day 7 of treating with the Melafix, I know I have to do a 25% water change on Friday. On the bottle it says, you can treat again but I don't know if I should or not...any recommendations/opions would be GREATLY appreciated!

GeeTee...in the second pic, one of the fishies is a dalmation sailfin molly correct? I had one just like that...ah...err, I still do...just that know he is mostly black. Have you had yours a long time? Beautiful pics everyone

Which fish do you mean? If goldfish, I give mine flakes and once a week they get peas. I have 2 WCMM in another tank. They get flakes. Hmmm...occasionally I put zucchini in for my pleco, never noticed if they pick at that :-?

Everybody seems to be eating (including guppy). But I didn't make myself clear on one of my questions :-? :-? I normally do not feed my fish on Sunday so I didn't know if it would be a good idea to follow that yesterday (Sunday) on account of "fin" trouble with a guppy. Anyway, I didn't feed them, I stuck to the "routine". Thanks Caryl

When treating your fishies, should you feed as you normally would, or should you cut back? Anytime I've had to treated before, I believe I fed as I normally would but just wondering if you should or not? I am presently treating with Melafix and today (Sunday here) I don't feed my fishies at all? But I am wondering if not feeding would cause more stress to my sick guppy? So should I stick to my "non" feeding day or feed a little?????

I don't know if you can tell what kind of guppy this is...but I think this is the third one like this that I have lost...it's been awhile but I'm pretty sure the other 2 were very similar. Is this kind of guppy known for this??? I noticed yesterday that his tail fin was "disintegrating" so I started treating with Melafix. I don't know if it's going to work He did eat today when fed but all evening he has been staying at the top of the tank. The bubbles at the top are a result from when I added the melafix. I don't know if it is fin rot or not as the tip of his tail wasn't white like I've read about. Any ideas??? Could it be too late already for him

That would be a good way to describe it...now when I fed them this evening he seemed to "find" more before it went to the floor of tank. Ah...I think he is a "common" goldfish...*runs to get goldfish book*...I get common and comet mixed up :-? :-? There is nothing that is "visible" in his appearance Caryl to indicate a problem. I'm really baffled...any ideas what could be causing this, and wonder if it is permanent????

Well you know it's your fault, you would not have had a problem if you taught him how to use the program properly :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Oh Kookie...I look at people's tanks here with the plants and I think wow, wish I could do that But I am so bad with plants, my ex used to tell me that I could kill artificial plants I think once I'm more comfortable with having fishies...someday I'll try the plants. But I did make a mental note...hmmm... or was that I am mental :-? :-? ...that you don't use any CO2 or anything else but your fishies and light.

How would you know that a fish was dyed? Hmmmm...at WalMart they sell...ah...shoot...forget at the moment...thinking they are some kinda of tetra, but could be wrong! But now I am wondering, they had pale blue and pale pink! I never bought any...but must ask about them next time I go!

Yep, livingroom=lounge Well, I unfortunately I only have 2 tanks...first one, 10 gallon MUCH, MUCH, to small! My second is 29 gallon...much better. If I had realized, that is the size I would have started with because I was super nervous about getting into fishies...but now, of course, I LOVE THE HOBBY :bounce: :bounce:
