  1. PS. I will BEG you to try re-posting your pics  ( in need a fix, lol! ) Don't press the Img button here in the forums "post a reply". Go to your photobucket and go to the thumbnail of the pic you want. Underneath it there are 4 different types of addies... point to the last one, "IMG Code" and click on it. A little yellow box should either flash "copied" very quickly automatically, meaning it is all ready on your clipboard to paste; or it will highlite the address in blue and you should then right-mouse-click and copy it. Then just paste that here under "post a reply" I notice the Img button here is in small letters, but Photobucket uses Capital letters... everything must be perfect to work the link, so copy/paste works best for me... hope that helps I have got to see your SH's!!
  2. Shucks, I can't find the pics!... but will keep trying... Anyhow, Congratulations on finally getting your horses! And best wishes Beg any friend you know travelling to Oz to bring you back a chiller!

  5. Thanks for that David! I will go check it out Now. Was still just drooling over your purple bosai... anything you could tell me about them or a good link?
  6. 1st off I'd like to say thank you for starting this thread! I am enjoying looking at all your fabulous corals. Great timing, because I actually logged on to see what types/colours of tubeastrea might be available in NZ! So far, my favourite would have to be tubastrea, as it was my 1st and I still only have very few corals.... (brown buttons multiplying madly, the suncoral, a single candycane and a couple of diff coloured mushrooms and their teensy babies) I will have to wait till my seahorses live out their days until I can think of converting the tank for more variety of corals. I just have an orange/yellow tubeastrea. I have found it easy, growing from 5 polyps to 2 dozen+ quite quickly. Is the black more difficult?? Does anyone here have the Emerald coloured one? I would Love to get a teensy frag, even if it is 1 mere polyp!! Meanwhile I am eyeing up which other ones might also be SH safe/ non stinging/nontoxic .... Ohhh, that purple bonsai is absolutely gorgeous!!! *fingers crossed that it might be SH safe....
  7. Thanks for your reply; 5 years-that's encouraging! Will have to check out your park next time we're down that way
  8. Just curious who else is still out there keeping seahorses and what the life-span of these little guys might be/ how successful you have been ? PS. Is there a "friends" list on this forum, where one can save peoples contact addies/profiles who have similar interests?

    seahorses

Just wondering, are there still any captive bred seahorses available down there? And if you are thinking of catching your own, caring for and feeding wildcaughts is a Whole different "kettle of fish"! Please research thoroughly 1st. Heat in the summer is a big cause of stress for seahorses, causing illness & death. For potbellies, you will need a chiller. Tropical tanks are cheaper/ easier to maintain correct temp. Don't get in a rush and keep reading up! I'm not trying to discourage you, just want to hear a success story later and not a sad one. I made my share of mistakes! I have a temperate with Potbellies and a troppo with kuda. Yes, I am a seahorse nut, LOL!
  10. Ah yes Cookie; Cheers! You have me on a better track now - definitely not a nudi but some type of cuke; still narrowing down the exact type...
  11. Hi, thanks for the replies yes it is quite moblie... no leathers; it is in a cold water seahorse tank (18 degrees C). I have been searching and asked at seaslug as well... Cheers!
  12. Could someone ID this hitchhiker please?

    mysis

Hey, if you're still looking for mysis... I was desperate to find some... Jansens in Silverdale still had several packs in their freezer this week, even though I had previously rung and the girl said "no, we don't have any" I went in to get the dog a treat and thought I'd just double check the freezer myself- good thing! Good luck, hope your pets aren't as picky as mine!
