    i screwed up

Dammit - here I was reading this thread hoping desperately for pics of you collecting water by moonlight   Glad to hear things are seemingly settled however
  2. I can definitely recommend picking one person off the forums who lives close, and going to visit them for a chat/look at their tank. Then do this with another, and another etc I found that it was _far_ easier to get advice and information when every conversation didn't turn into a huge discussion about stuff I didn't understand  Seeing people's tanks in the flesh gives you a great appreciation for the costs involved, and the reasons for doing things the way they have as well.
  3. Don't forget to let it cycle with a couple of wcmm's or something Prizes for finding them after a week.

    New Skimmer

They also tend to restrict the flow a fair bit, which you may not want.
  5. You sure they won't leap out of the straw at you like an alien facehugger when removed from the water? Nuke em from orbit, it's the only way to be sure
  6. Awesome I'll hassle you again when I'm back from Aussie.
  7. oh.. THAT rose anemone  didn't think I saw one actually for sale
  8. Hmm, not sure sorry.
  9. I picked these up from Jansens yesterday, cheers Ben - they're setting in really well and not fighting at all. Now... If only I could stop this one hosting in my xenia   Does anyone have an anemone for sale (chimera - you might have had a BTA that split again?)
  10. Not like these Pies? (Amphiprion Bicinctus) I just got a couple, they're awesome looking, especially the subtle blue in the white bands. Edit: except that mine have three bands, one right before the tail.

    Paint

*shrug* over a year and a half now with the same backing blue (was freshwater for 1 year, now 6 months saltwater), not an issue at all. Personal preference I guess

    Paint

I just used blue backing paper stuck on with insulation tape took all of 5 min to put on, and worked a charm.
  13. wow! hmm, I want one I think
  14. You probably want a "regulated" 12V power supply, otherwise if you don't draw the rated current, the voltage will be higher, and things go bad
  15. You mean it'll work flawlessly without any maintenance, and cost less than many other pumps?

    Sad looking tank

I'll be keen for the other one

    sunsun tanks

I actually found the hood filter on my Aqua One R2-150 tank to be just fine, was a truckload easier to maintain than a cannister filter, given you didn't have to turn it off/disconnect/etc/etc/etc to clean/maintain it. Then again, I am very tall
  18. You also want to make sure that the floor is flat if it's wooden. Possibly use a decently thick (1" or so) piece of polystyrene.

    My MCE600

What is this magical blue sponge of which you speak? I don't think I have one of those.

    My MCE600

It'll stop doing that after a while - mine did the same thing.

    power bill

Note that at least with Mercury, they write on the bill whether it's estimated or actual, and you can call them with an actual reading if you don't like the estimated one.
